Maybe it's just me, but I haven't really noticed Christians being hateful. However, I have seen some very hateful questions addressed TO Christians. For instance:
In which denomination will I find the dumbest Christians?

In the interest of keeping this short (or is it too late?), I'll stop here, although I could go on...and on...and on...
I don't mind so much people asking these sorts of questions, but then having someone accuse Christians of being hateful does seem a bit like adding insult to injury.
God bless you.
:)

Good question. And although I've never read the Bible front to back, I don't consider myself a Christian either. I don't feel the Bible is a credible enough source to be considered the absolute word & law of God.
They are hateful because they are scared. They cannot explain what they believe or why they believe it, so they use selective quotes from the Bible, taken out of context & pretty much ignore what simply dosen't make sense. Or they use the "faith" argument. Another question for Christians: have you ever studied the history-social, cultural & political-of the Bible & of biblical times? Unfortunately, I'm sure you won't get any intelligent responses. I keep hoping though.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I will love to answer this christians LOVE to speak their mind and convert people.I am not speaking from expierence because my fiancee is a christian and I am an atheist but from being on here christians LOVE to put other people down for some reason because they are ALWAYS right and hate to be wrong or take critisism from other people that aren't christians it is stupid they are not following the bible one bit,Because the bible is all about people keeping peace and so on.Let me pose this question to all of you christians ok?Not to be mean or rude but look at what the all mighty God did to Jobe thing. Why would God let the ''devil'' go and kill his family make Jobe suffer these painful scars and everything else but yet he will let a killer in Heaven if he sits there and believes and gets his sins washed away,

I'm a Christian and I haven't read the Bible, didn't have to. I got the message from church. {Be good to each other.} I agree, many fundamentalists like to lash out at people because they have an absolutionist view of the world, that their view is right so anything else must be wrong. I might be a christian but the only faiths I disagree with are Satanism (stupid) and atheism (asinine). When someone attacks you with a vicious answer just ignore them or report the abuse. Peace

Are you asking why people here are hateful of christians...or the christians here are hateful...or what?

Oh well, anyway, I've read the bible. Then I found out there were other books. Lots of other books. I've even read some of them. And other ideas. And other beliefs and concepts and countries and histories and myths. And I started asking questions. And I found out that lots of other people also ask questions and they're called scientists. I said, gee, this doesn't make sense...this doesn't agree with what I see around me... no one can answer these questions...and there ya go, a heretic is born!

Yes I have read the Bible twice cover to cover and am now reading it again. I hope I have not been hateful in any way, but sometimes the truth that I share in love offends people. Maybe those being hateful are not born-again, blood-washed Christians because the Bible says people will know Christians by their love.

PLZ>>> Look at these questions and answers...who is hateful to who???I do not see hateful Christians here. Non-Christ believers are attacking Christians all the time, and when we say that Jesus loves you, repent and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior so you will receive the gift of eternal life....

They take this as evil Christians or wrongfully God is sending them to hell...but actually they make that choice for them self.

And if Christian teases them, they gang up together and try to make you look bad...well, words here do not have a voice...so never assume that the truth of God is meant to be said in a mean way. And if you joke, people can take it anyway they want to...it does not mean that they really got the joke as intended.

because christianity is a virus

CHRISTIANITY= VIRUS OF THE MIND

Christianity is basically nothing more than an extremely efficient virus of the mind.

Since they emanate from humans and therefore have an organic component, all ideas have a survival instinct just like their human progenitors, and will seek to propagate themselves into as many human hosts as possible. Now of course some ideas are beneficial to their human hosts, but not all.

Christianity is one of those malignant versions. Of course, the long-term life expectancy of its human hosts is beneficial to the Christian mind virus since it allows more propagation, but ultimately the survival of its human hosts is irrelevant, as demonstrated throughout history in wars with competing religious viral "memes" (ideas).

Need proof? Just look at the evangelical nature of Christianity. Christianity drives its adherents to "spread the word" through human-to-human contact...just like a virus spreads.

And what is a "word" anyway? Nothing more than the spoken or written expression of an IDEA. The Christian Bible even ADMITS that God is nothing more than an IDEA..."In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD WAS GOD", remember?

Need more proof? Ever wonder why the Catholic Church opposes birth control and abortion? It's not because abortion is murder, because throughout history the Catholic Church has either endorsed murder (Crusades, Inquisition) or turned a blind eye to it (Holocaust). No, it's because THE MORE UNEDUCATED, POOR, IGNORANT SOULS THAT ARE BORN INTO POVERTY AND MISERY ON THIS PLANET, THE GREATER THE CHRISTIAN MIND VIRUS' CHANCES OF SURVIVAL.

I have read the Bible, and I am also a Christian.
what many are calling rude Christians are people who are simply writing what God said in the Bible. they didn't write the Bible, they are just passing along what God said.
many people (even some Christians) have such a distorted image of God, that through all of the politically correctness, I can't even reconize God. they have created their own God that is tolerant to sin, and compromises his own laws and teachings, and never corrects anyone for anything, a wishy washy God that changes his mind about what he said... God is love, but he is not tolerant to sin.. if you have read your Bible you have seen the account of Lot and and his family in Sodom, what happened to the cities? I believe God destoryed them, that same loving God decided he couldn't tolerate the sin that was going on. that same loving God also created a huge flood that destroyed everyone but one family. why? because they had grown evil and was not following God's laws. and God even had to punish his own friend one day, when he told Moses to smote the rock once, and instead of doing it once, Moses flew off the handle and hit it twice, Moses never got to see the promised land that he was leading the children of Israel to. yet the Bible says that Moses was his friend. God is loving, yet he will not tolerate sin, even from those he loves. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.. he doesn't change with the times like many think.
I am truly not being rude. I answer questions using God's own words, if they sound harsh, talk to God about it (he wrote it), don't blame the one carrying the message.

I suppose that people that feel attacked in their beliefs tend to react violently and scorn at those who think differently.
I'm a Christian, I didn't read all the Bible, but a lot of the parts I read were violents and hatefull.
Mostly in the Old testament, but even in the New.
