some bones in the trash they werent supposed to..i caught them in the act and told the NO ..so they just sat and couldnt even make eye contact or look at me.ive never yelled at themso i wonder if they knew i was pissed and that they shouldnt do that.

Your dogs are infinitely sensitive to your moods and feelings...probably more so than you are to your own feelings. I used to travel for a living and the dogs would always know the day I was coming home...because they sensed the change in my wife's behaviour.
Never doubt that your dog knows exactly how you're feeling either towards them, or towards your work...or even if you just got out of the wrong side of the bed that morning!

They could tell by the tone of your voice that you aren't happy with them. They'll get affectionate and try to make up with you after a while. Let them grovel for a few minutes and then go back to being normal, cheerful you. Their little indiscretion could have been SO much worse. You've never lived until you've seen your Golden Retriever tear into a brand new tube of red lipstick. My bedroom carpet was never more colorful!

oh yeah they do
all i have to do is sound mean and my dogs start acting headshy even though i dont beat them (i use a shock collor when they misbehave)
dogs arnt stupid
my dog is my right hand man (or dog) and when she starts working with me (when we start punching cattle -im a rancher-) we move seemlessly on and off the 4 wheeler (in a corall) actually its perfect she runs through my legs fast enough to not trip me but slow enough to stop a cow thats trying to get away (its so cool when that happens)

Being a dog lover myself, Yes they do know when your pissed off with them..just like when your not feeling well, they seem to have this notion to stay with you in your bedroom or lay down when your watching the idiot box..(television) They do not want to upset you in any way..Its their way of taking care of you..

O yes ofcourse they know your mad at them.When my dog Sandy (a girl) chews one of my things I yell "No" and she sits there and looks at me and lowers her head.I mean dogs are pretty smart and can really sense your emotions and things like that well at least it is what I believe and most of the ppl I know do too.

Yes they do know when you are pissed at them. I was told by my friend that you never leave your dog after you scold them without being nice to them.

Yes dogs are very intune to all your moods, they also know when your not feeling well, and can also detect illness. They are very atuned to your feelings, cause their built that way.They can tell when things are not right, or when something is wrong.
