Well Raynelley, I think you should probably not get a chihuahua, cuz they are soooo hyper, I should know!! I would go for a medium size dog, beagles are cute. But any dog is alot of trouble in an apartment, I would get a cat. Hey!!! I know where you can get 1...or 2!! :)
oh yeah.......what a jerky thing that idiot said to you about your husband!! What the hell does he know??? Where would he be right now without guys like your man??? jeez, the nerve of some people!!! bad bad bad

My girlfriend is a veterinary technician and a good small apartment dog that is good for travel would be either a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel or a Beagle. Enjoy your new puppy

Im sure the stress will affect you too and for now you want a puppy...but might not like to take care for a dog that also causes extra problems when moving to maybe other countries....
so you should get a Nintendog :)

Any dog really, but if your going to live in apartments, it might be best to get a small dog. Because big dogs need a lot of room and big yards to run around in.

Old English Sheepdogs are large but need attention and companionship more than exercise. So if you can be with him most of the day, they are phenomenal companions, and will look after you extremely well....as if you were one of their sheep!
They will protect you in all situations and often boss you around if you start to get flakey!
All in all, they will run your life if you let them... and its a good feeling cos they always know just what to do!...and always make you feel wonderful...so if you can give them lots of attention, they can stand the apartment life!

I recommend small dogs that don't need a lot of exercise. Toy poodles, (don't shed) Pomeranian, papillons...
If you get them when they are puppies, you shouldn't have problems training them with children, and you CAN train them not to bark.
If you are planning on a puppy, I would suggest crate training, since you will be moving so much. The crate will be a "constant home" for him.

A nodogatall.
Yep! these dogs are cheap and easy to feed and kept groomed.
They are a rare breed but just the thought of owning one will make your husband a very happy soldier..

You need a small dog for apartment living and a Chihuahua is happy anywhere as long as it is with the humans it loves. Get a Chihuahua.

I live in an apartment and have a beagle. It is not ideal, and I wouldn't recommend it, especially in your situation.
I would recommend a cavalier king charles as well like somebody else did. I hope to own one someday!
