The dumb thing about this is that ALL education is "outcome based". Even the classic styles suggest that the final OUTCOME will be a productive member of society.

While there are some HUGE problems w/ public education, this particular author mixes up so many theories in her conspiracy quest, that she does a disservice to those who want to improve education.

She bashes on "total quality management" with no understanding of the concept.

She bashes on "outcome based learning" with no appreciation that not all students are suited to studying latin...and btw they are valuable members of society as well.

I'd love to see education improvement, but it ain't coming from this lackwit.

If I'm not mistaken, outcome learning is learning that is focused on the outcome (usually, passing a test). The problem with it is that we now have a generation of kids who know how to take a test (regurgitating information given), but are not capable of real learning (investigation, questioning, DISCOVERY).
