I read a book not too many years ago about the life of George Mueller. One thing that struck me was that he kept a record of his prayers. He would record the prayer request, then leave a space for the answer. He would pray continually until he received an answer to that prayer.

Four years ago, I began keeping a journal just like he did, and as I learned that the kinds of prayers God answered the most (or the best) were those for or about others and their needs. Yes, even many of my selfish ones were answered. Even now, I can point to a record that shows clearly what prayers have been answered, and those that still have gone unanswered. I have 7 unanswered prayers right now, four of which are from years prior to 2006. God has been so faithful in answering prayer. The ones unanswered are all recent prayers, beginning in the month of May, not including those prior to 2006.

It has been a wonderful blessing to see my history of prayer with God, and even when He has answered "no," He has made up for any disappointment I've had by doing something different/better.

I've been blessed with a lot of answer to prayer. The one that comes to mind is the salvation of my family. I became a born again Christian at 13 and prayed for God to heal my family and He did. Today my dad is a Bible toting, fruitful Christian who's never ashamed to share His faith that Jesus is God. Praise God!
Another one, God physically healed me from complications during my pregnancy.
Something recently God did for me was help me rebuild my house. I knocked down more than 1/2 of it w/out knowing anything about construction. All we had were architectual plans that we couldn't even read properly. A couple of months later, I became pregnant. My husband works full time so I had to hire and oversee all the subs. It was really a crazy time. I know it was God who helped us through it. We were back in the house 1 week before the baby was born. Funny thing is that there are a few odds and ends that still need to be done in the house. We can't seem to figure these little jobs out. I'm so amazed when I look around at our home, we can't even build a closet system now. lol
There are so many answers to prayer...too many for me to ever doubt Him.

Prayer keeps me close to God. Prayer helps me to stay focused on the blessings in my life, and helps me to be a more positive person, rather than concentrating on the things that aren't so good and allowing myself to become depressed and negative, as I see so many people without God doing.
Since you asked for a specific example--shortly after my marriage, my gynecologist informed me and my husband that I would not be able to have children. He said that my uterus was full of fibroid tumors, and that I would have to have at least a partial hysterectomy. (I was only nineteen, and heartbroken.) He made arrangements for me to check into the hospital for the surgery. I went home depressed, and spent the next day praying that God would let me carry just one child...I ached for a son!
The day I went in for my pre-op exam, the doctor came back into the room, a very perplexed look on his face. "I don't know how it could be possible," he told me, "but you seem to be pregnant." He told me that it would be best for me not to try to carry the child, but, of course, I couldn't hear that.
I am now the happy mother of seven (yes, you read that right SEVEN) grown kids, and fourteen (yep that's FOURTEEN) grandchildren.
Thank you, Jesus!

i pray for forgivness every day. we make mistakes everyday and done realize it. god has done many many miracles fo rme. my grama was super very very VERY close to dying. we all prayed everyday and he worked wonders. my cat was also super very very VERY close to dying. we did the same thign and he was better and back to normal in less than 4 days. if there is anything at all that you need desperate help with, ask god and he will help you. maybe it will take a couple of days, maybe, a couple of weeks, months or even years, but i know from ALOT of expierience, if you pray every night, god WILL answer you.if you have faith in him. you have to have faith always. god can do miraculous things. just watch. it may take a while, but faith is the most important key. and as for all non-christians, i hope you find the right path to god, but always have faith. i cannot stress it enough.faith gets you through life. you live on faith, if you realize it or not. hope that answers your question. take care and good luck!

When I pray, I don't just ask for things. It's my chance to talk to God and feel closer to him, and it is the most comforting thing in the world. When I do make requests, I ask for peace and wisdom and guidance. My brother died three years ago and it completely destroyed my family. When I prayed to the Lord, I asked for peace from my grief, financial aid, and something to help me deal with the pain. Then, someone anonymously paid for his funeral, a fund was set up by our church and the hospital bill was completely paid for, and I got a new horse given to me that I still have. I was able to throw all my anguish into my horse and he gave me love in return. Don't tell me the Lord doesn't provide.

Prayer has kept me from many temptations and when I was a fairly new Christian it kept me from relapsing into alcohol addiction and I ended up getting a great job where I made over $52,000 my first year in a field where I had no prior experience.

Prayer has helped me become closer to God and stronger in my faith. Prayer has helped me realize what I should be thankful and what I should work on.

I prayed to know if certain things were right or wrong, and the preacher would always seem to preach on that subject the next Sunday. I new God had sent that one to me.
