I'm against open hunting on cats, but we should have a season for morons like you.

Stray cats help to keep nature in balance. If you don't want them to eat the birds, set up some feeding station. Feed that cat. Also trap them and get them fixed. That way the population can become controlled. I think that open season for hunting cats is the worst abuse their can be and I hope that if this happen that PETA, MSPA and the ASPCA puts a stop to it. They didn't ask to be strays some jerk dumped their cat when it wasn't cute anymore or it had kittens. I am fighting to keep a 4 1/2 week old kitten who had a seizure today alive. It is cruel to shot any domestic animal. I hope you don't think that humans who are sick should be put down? If we shoot stray cat, what about stray dogs, homeless people, what next. It is a bad idea to shot stray cats.

Where is your evidence that cats are eating ALL the songbirds? That is not true...I know of a state that tried to get that established and too many were against it.
How about open season on dogs? They kill cats (or some do).
I love all animals and just wanted to make a point. At least my statement has more truth to it than yours.

Absolutely against it. Cats are companion animals, and are just doing as their nature inclines them. It's the HUMANS who need the crackdown. Those who let their animals roam WITHOUT taking the responsibility to have them altered so that hundreds of thousands of innocent babies have to be destroyed -- and now you want to add to it? Many of the roaming cats you see may very well be "pets", which you have NO right to harm. Even the ferals are a result of PEOPLE being irresponsible. Maybe go beat the "irresponsible" owners over the head til they get a clue. THAT is the only thing that will solve the problem. People who can't care for their pets, with ALL that that entails, should not be allowed to have them!!!

definitely against it! It is animal cruelty! If you are having a problem with feral cats, then have the city pound catch them (they can set out humane traps for them) and they will take care of them, maybe find homes for them.
Cats catching birds are only doing what is in their nature. They do it so they can eat. Cats don't eat just mice. Mice don't give them much meat that they need.
You would have to be one sick person to think of a hunting season for cats.

No state in the U.S. has open hunting season on cats. They're a domesticated animal, even if some cats are feral. There are only hunting seasons for wild animals.
And by the way, if you purposely kill, injure, or otherwise abuse a cat, you can pay a serious fine or do jail time for cruelty to animals (depending on what state you commit the crime in).

I love cats and can't even believe there are states out there that would have open season on hunting them. I would be against it if it came to my state.

Yeah, see cats are my life, and anyone who harms cats are definately the biggest A$$&*^%$ around. What did cats eat before we domesticated them? Which we still haven't done, but like to think we have. I am not a fan of the states, but I really don't think theres any states that have legalized cat killing. Of course I'd be against it, and I think any compassionate person would.

I would be against it. Cats keep the rodent problem down. As far as birds go they like to poop on my car so if a few get caught by the cat, circle of life.

i'm against it-i do have an easy solution to this problem though, if pet owners would just keep their cats as indoor pets than that would solve all problems. (there's too many stray cats out there)
