No, lemon juice will not work. Try using peroxide. Wash and condition your hair as normal. When you get out of the shower, wring the excess water out of your hair. Take the peroxide and pour it over your hair, careful to avoid the eyes. Then, blow dry your hair completely dry. It will gradually lighten your hair, so repeat the sequence every 4 days until you reach the desired shade. Its a lot cheaper than hair dye and it won't damage your hair.

First - use a clarifying shampoo. It'll take out the residue in your hair, leaving it naturally lighter. Then use a light detangling conditioner, heavier conditioners will in turn re-add the residue back in.

Sunshine does work. I wouldn't suggest using lemon juice. I tried it once, it really dried out my hair and gave it a brassy look. Sun-in is also tricky, and will give your hair an orange look if it has any darkness to it.

Use a wide tooth comb dipped in lemon juice and comb it sparingly through your hair or where you want it lightened. Sit it the sun or use a blow dryer. This will permanently lighten your hair. It will grow back in darker.

first you don't dye your hair lighter, do not use sun in or peroxide {sun in has peroxide in it} just go get some subtle hi lites.it'll lighten your hair, not look bad growing out{so less maintenance},and not to much damage to your hair{ if done right.}
