I really want to be more than friends with one of my guy friends but i don't know if he feels the same way. I was thinking about going to the movies with him and then on the walk home telling him how i feel. does this sound like a good idea or is there a better way to do this that makes things less awkward?

You will never know unless you try. Weigh your options first. You need to be a very strong person to take in whatever comes. If he wants to stay friends, don't hold it against him. Let him know your friendship CAN continue without it being awkward. On the lighter side of things, he may accept your invitation. He may have feelings for you that you may never know about if he's in the same predicament that you are. You may lose your opportunity to someone else if you don't tell him soon. Go for it.

If you've gone to the movies with him before, i would say it is too much of a "friend" comfort zone for the both of you. Usually asking him to go for a coffee, or something is a better idea. This way you can chat for a bit, and then throw in at some point the fact that you would like to be more than friend's. I did it and i am still married to him ! GOOD LUCK!

Don't see a better way to do it. But I would suggest on the way to movie theater, if you guys could manage reaching half n hour early and grab a tea or coffee and there taking up this thought.
It will make things more casual and will be easy to come out either way things turns.

Awesome! but if u don't know how he feels about you then there could be a problem...If he does like you, he probably will be very stoked, but if he doesn't like you then it will be super akward. But, I guess if you want to tell him how you feel go for it, but don't be too pushy because no guy likes a pushy girl. Good luck and remember take things slow and if he says no than work on your friendship and then through time maybe he'll see you in a special way.

It'll be awkward pretty much no matter how you do it.
Try that, it sounds like as good an idea as any I could come up with. For you, it's probably the best way, since it's the way you came up with.

Before you jump and tell him how you feel, make sure that you have enough in common with him, and ask him hypothetical questions where it would tell you first hand whether it is a good idea to tell him or not, and then act accordingly.
