Matthew 7
15"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

It means that there will be people that will not teach by the true bible. They will change words and leave out words to fit into their way of life. You will recognize them by the fruit they bare. They will get you to believe their way and then turn on you. The Antichrist will be one of these false prophets. He will make you promises and make everything great to start with and then turn into a ravening Wolf that will want you to bow down to him, rather than the true God. These are the ends of time.

the fruit of the spirit are explained in

Galatians 5: 22
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

(we reconize them ) we know if we see the fruits of the spirit in someone, especially in someone who is a preacher or teacher of God's word.

Matthew 7 is teaching us not to believe everyone that says that they are sent by God to preach or teach, but rather we are to "try" the spirits to see if they are from God. when you watch their lives outside of church, do you see their fruits?

(a bad tree cannot bear good fruit)..in other words a bad person cannot bear any of the fruits mentioned in the above text.

(19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire)
one day we will be judged by our fruits, to see if we did them for the right reason.. did you go visit someone in a nursing home to show them God's love.. or did you do it because someone volunteered you? did you go to church because you HAD to, or because you wanted to know more about God? our good fruits will remain, the others will be burned up, leaving you will no reward for what you did. it was done in vain if your intent was different than what you showed it would be.

Don't assume someone is a follower of Christ simply because they say they are. Instead look at their actions and the results of their actions. Gal5:22 tells us that the fruit of the spirit is love, joy ,peace , patience, kindness, goodness, faithfullness, gentleness, and self control. Do I help to increase these things in the people I come in contact with. Or, do I encourage them toward sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolarty and witchcraft;hatred, discord jealousy, fits of rage, selfisf ambition, dissensions, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like...Gal 5:19-21

A bad tree must become healthy before it can bear good fruit.

Obviously, it starts with the FALSE TEACHINGS of the FALSE PROPHETS who have their own hidden agendas in how they will run their organization.

And the FRUITS OF such FALSE DOCTRINES are merely the MISGUIDED MEMBERS who have been MISLED by these hungry and greedy wolves in sheep's clothing shepherding their flocks into the ravines, heading straight down to the bottomless pit of darkness. It's the classic case of the "blind leading the blind..."

And for some curious reason, several of those spoiled, rotten fruits have somehow found their way into this fruitbasket that we have here as well. LOL.

Peace be with you!

This is what I think it means. It talks about how to recognize false prophets. The false prophets are people whose outward existence (or public persona) is radically different from what they are within. Inside they are plagued by the same conflicts, of greed and fear, while they project an image of sainthood.

And who is the true prophet? The one who has gained an inner equanimity, oneness and tranquility. What they choose to project outwardly comes from that state of being.

Now I can never tell with complete authority about another person, as to what is going on within. I cannot guarantee for anyone else if they are free from conflict in their minds. This verse then is directly addressed to me. I can make this analysis only about myself.
I must be the lamp unto myself.

The next part of the verse tells me how this is verifiable. Only a person who is in that state of being can have about compassion and generosity in his actions. That at the deepest level these actions will be beneficial to everyone. One who has outwardly forced virtues onto himself without addressing and confronting the conflicts within, will never really benefit anyone. But will eventually be cut down, or have to reconcisele with those inner conflicts.

If you bear bad fruit, your not of the Lord, and if you bear good fruit, you will be recognized by other believers as a believer.

And the first part of the verses is about recognizing false prophets, lie psychics, or fore-tellers of anykind of future. If they are wrong, their fruit is bad, their info is not of God.

This is a teaching about hypocrisy. You can claim to be a prophet from God, but if what you teach disagrees with the Bible and your life is against what the Bible teaches, then you are a false prophet. It's that simple. You can't say one thing and then live another thing without being called out.

I think it is pretty self explanitory, but if you insist.

God says he judges us by our intentions but since we humans are not psychic the next best thing is to watch for what a person does. You are what you do.

Jesus is simply stating that this is to be a tool used by us to determine who is a false prophet.

And he says those who bear bad fruit will go to Hell.

Prophets come in Jesus' name but do evil. They preach the wrong word of God. Would you pick grapes from thornbushes? no.
Would you follow someone that preaches false things? no.
Careful, Lot of preachers come preaching the false word.
Specially at the end, when the false Jesus comes pretending to Jesus.

How about, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Or gee, aren't people gullible? Or, there's a sucker born every minute. Or buyer beware. Or, you get what you pay for. Or, a fool and his money are soon parted. Oh, sorry, not a bible quote in the bunch. What did we do before that story was written?
