Because they can be and you are not that important. You are only on of several million customers and there is no alternative. You're stuck. Just like being stuck with only one political party in the United States with two irrelevant branches but no substantial difference. The oligarchy sets up straw horses for the two bogus teams to argue over but never address real issues. It's like we're down the rabbit hole, like we have chewed the blue pill or the grey one.

Why is (fill in the bank)'s customer service so rude?
1. Stupid customers. (really)
2. People who work in call centers listen to people gripe all day long and probably get sick of it.
3. The people who work there aren't in a career, "it's just a job."

Remember that eBay isn't selling the item ... they provide the floor space for sellers. It sounds like your problem is really with the seller.
There are several eBay groups and discussion boards that are comprised of eBay members or you might want to try an eBay Yahoo group.

figure that they make minimum wage to sit and deal withhundreds of people each day and some of those customers are idiots who dont know whats going on in the world around them

its not a secure website. i lost 200 dollars when i bought a digital camara and never got my money back neither got the camara and i email them and they didnt do anything.
