and lays there.

What do you mean "sneaks out"? Do you not have the yard totally fenced off? Does she squeeze through a gap somewhere? If there is some kind of space or gap that she's squeezing out through, then close it off somehow. Go to your local hardware store and ask them for advice on screens or fencing.

If it's not possible to completely close off your property, then consider the shock collars. It consists of underground wiring and transmitters, and your dog would have to wear a collar with a receiver on it. When the dog gets close to the underground boundary, the collar makes a warning beeping noise. If the dog does not back off, then it delivers a mild shock. Most dogs only need to get zapped once or twice before they catch on. Follow the instructions very closely--a good product will either have a technician come to your house to install it and give the dog basic training, or at least come with instructions on how to train your dog to understand what the beep means.

However, some dogs are so smart that they will stand in the warning zone, but not close enough to get the shock, and let the collar beep and beep and beep until the battery runs out. Then they cross the boundary.

Bottom line is, it sounds like your dog just wants to be near you, as most dogs have a strong pack instinct. If she's not an indoor dog right now, consider letting her in. If that's not possible, then close off the openings in your fence and spend more time with your dog and supervise her more closely. Give her lots and lots of exercise, so that she doesn't have the extra energy to find ways to escape.

Lastly, do you have her microchipped? If not, consider doing it. Most humane societies or shelters will do it for a low cost. It is a small chip, about the size of a grain of rice, that is injected just under the skin in the back of the neck. (the needle is big and you'd think it would hurt, but the animal barely feels it, apparently) That way, if she gets lost and is taken to a shelter, they will scan her to see if she has a chip. The chip serial # will show up on the scanner, they look up the number on a national registry, and find your name and address. It is the best way to insure that your lost pet will find her way home.

She sneaks out of WHERE? If she doesn't jump the fence, I'm confused. But in any case, you need both a high enough fence and also 6x4 beams embedded into the ground along the bottom of the fence so your dog won't dig out.

Good thing she only goes around front, though!

buy a wireless fence at Cabelas or a Fleet Farm. The range is 90ft and you never have to worry about burrying a cable or dealing with a traditional fence. The dog gets a warning beep when it nears the boundary and shocked if it crosses. There are different levels of shock and all it takes is once...they'll never cross again, not even for a rabbit!

There are these leashes that one can purchase at Walmart that are about 15-20 ft and can be nailed to the ground. If you buy one of those, the dog will not be able to leave the backyard, yet still have enough room to move.

My neighbour has a type of alarm she put in her garden to hold dogs and cats from crapping on the grass. It lets out a high pitched noise every thirty seconds or so, which can scare puppies (who've touchy hearing) off.

whats wrong with your dog being on the porch? if you really wanna keep her off your porch then tie her out to a tree in the yard with water and food, so she wont go to the porch.

there are these collars that you can buy at canadian tire or something and they don't even cost much. It come with little flags that youbut in the ground, and it will give your dog a very little shock when they pass the mark.
If not, try fencing outside

you probably need a slectric dog fence that you can plant in the dog. when the dog goes pass the wire in the ground it will deliver a small shock. or you could probably just keep in inside.
