I saw a nutritionist on the Food Network say that you should not eat left overs after 3 days.My mom says 5 days.Do a smell test also no matter how many days.

it is still safe to eat, all leftovers should not be held longer than 3 days, just bear in mind your sandwich has probably absorbed some leftover smells from the fridge
