Quality, within your budget. Remember, these pictures are going to last you the rest of your life. They are going to be how you remember the wedding once your memories start to fade. *This* is what you will cherish - not how big your bouquet was, not how many candles you had in your centerpiece, not what color your chair covers were.

I think your Budget will determine how much Style and Quality you can afford. "Standard" wedding photos can be had pretty cheaply, but they're a little boring. Talented, creative wedding photographers that do interesting, unique pictures charge a lot of money. By doing a search on yahoo search like "wedding photographer", you'll clearly see that some photographers produce pictures that are different.
Look at a lot of those sites, say maybe 50. If you can see the difference in pics of other people's weddings, you'll certainly see it when they're of your wedding.

I have seen a few episodes of 'Judge Judy' where the budget photographers gave inferior quality wedding photos and Judy Judy says "what do you expect at this low budget price...QUALITY.' Case dismissed.

both are very important, you need to figure out what your budget is and then start looking at vendors. Don't settle for the a couple of vendors go through as many as you can. You'll always find someone out there that is unique and willing to work with your budge.

Quality. However, you can still get great quailty photos for reasonable prices. Do not pay too much. There are plenty of less expensive companies and individuals out there doing some great stuff that wont break your pocketbook. Try looking on Craigslist.com in your area for some ideas!

Why do you even have to choose? You can have both. Often photographers will be willing to work with your budget if you are willing to be flexible. For example, have the photographer only come for the ceremony and formal photos. This will save you at least half and you'll have professional photos.

Quality, you only get one shot of each event. Fuzzy pictures that were inexpensive are not worth much as time goes by. Look for both but never settle on quality.

Split the difference. For your portraits hire a professional photographer or a friend who does a great job. For the wedding itself buy several of those $2-5 dollar automatic cameras and place them around the reception. Everyone will take pictures and you'll get unique and fun memories from different point of view. Have fun and good luck!

quality quality quality. look at samples of there work. ask around. meet the photographer in person and make sure he or she has personality as a boring photographer is sure to not get as many good shots. also i like digital photography but for a wedding i would want someone whom worked with film. the reason is there are still some effects that can be done in the darkroom that are not available in digital and if they are available they are not as good. for instance soft focus. this effect is popular in wedding photography as it lends a soft dreamy effect to the photo. done in film it kicks *** but in digital it sucks bad. so in short find a photographer that has been in biz for thirty years or so and make sure he has personality and works in film. if he or she also works a little digital that is ok but make sure you get at least some done in film.... good luck

Quality, because no matter the budget, the people wanting the photos want good photos that they can look back on from years to come.
