i have been planning this trip for the longest, but everytime i try to get support from someone and try to get approval for traveling, i end up getting a response i don't want to hear. In the end my excitement for planning this trip sinks downward and i end up not feeling motivated to plan my trip to begin with. Since i have decide to take either way, no matter what people have to say. I was trying to figure out if i should take someone along for the journey, instead of traveling on my own taking a risk on being miles away from my area without noone i can discuss my trip with. I think it's a money issue i'm more concerned about and getting someone who will be able to pay the amount necessary to take a small vacation. Should i let this stop me?

Since it seems like other people are raining on your parade, I say go solo. It's intimidating to travel on your own, but you may be very surprised and have an excellent time. Yu can go when and where you want at any time, meet new people. Don't let lack of a partner stop you. I have a friend who travels alone alll the time and she has a blast. She's a pretty adventurous spirit.

Are you a young female? If so, NEVER travel alone. However, if you are older, or a male, it may be safe to go alone. I have been to several different places in Cali, and I can tell you that if you're going to a big city, take a friend. There are a lot of creeps out there. However, a lot of the smaller cities are decent with friendly people.

You are twenty-one, stay out of the seedy side of town and you shouldn't be in too much trouble. Its always good to have a companion, but only if its someone of like interests, otherwise you won't end up doing what you want to do - and isn't that the point of a vacation?

I have traveled all over the US, by myself, or with my dog...in a bus, on a plane, but mostly in my car. There is WAY too much of this earth that is unexplored by me, and the only thing that will slow me down is finances. Don't listen to other people; their opinion shouldn't matter. Make up your mind and do it. If you don't have one, get a cell phone and stay in contact with people while traveling. And be smart in your personal safety.

No, obviously you aspire greatly to go on this trip. Expanding your horizons is always a good thing, and naysayers should just mind their own business. Now, If there is someone you know who wants to go, and has not doubted you in the past, then you should take them.

First I think you should ask yourself why it bothers you that other people don't want you to take the trip. If you felt you were right I don't think you would have added that in your question. It obviously matters to you but why? Only you can answer this question. Don't do something you will regret.

go on the trip and screw them if they can't take a joke....

When no one would go with me up the coast, I went by myself, cooler with snacks, a gang of CD's, and my camera.

I met good people, ate good food, and have an experiance I will never forget...........
