I think that the best thing Christianity has done as an institution is set high moral standards and expectations from its believers.
But then again, Mark Twain said, "There has been only one Christian. They caught him and crucified him--early."

The first published book was the bible, and so I credit Christianity for indirectly causing the printing revolution. Some people have chosen lives based on helping others due to their belief in a Christian god, and there are many other examples I could think of where Christianity has helped mankind. However, multiple wars, the crusades, and the deeds of evil people who claim their work is that of god are also caused directly by Christianity.

is there really anything? not to knock any one specific religion or belief but really is there? we have a book to live by, a church to worship. Christians are usually not open-minded people, if you say anything about their belief's they try to convert you or tell you any other belief is fake and you are going to hell. I Believe that there is a being, that any nationality or race can believe what they want to about what the being is, it could be in the shape of hundreds of gods, goddesses, deities whatever you want to believe, but i think christians have not really done something special for mankind as a whole, other than covering up anything that might be a true miracle, or telling you that your belief is false and you are burning in hell for it.. which i guess i will be doing with 100% of the planet because no one follows the bible to a T.

If every person in the united states were converted to Jesus Christ in reality, and I mean a twice-born child of God. " If any man in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away, they become new" It would mean that jails would become empty; the courts would shut down; the bars would close; the pornographic stores and theaters would be without business.
there would be no need for alarm devices in homes, or even looks on doors, because genuine Christians, born-again men and women, do not steal, kill, rape or do any of the thousands of other things that make life so unpleasant in America today.

Hello truthinus1.. :)
The teachings and saving grace of Jesus..
He taught us to be humble, peacemakers, gentle, kind, Loving, caring..thinking of others needs, before that of our own..
Missionaries will and have given up their lives to share the Love of Jesus, with those who have not heard..
They also are put in harms way many times, wanting to help feed the hungry..and clothe the needy..
They visit those in prison..visit the elderly..open up their homes to the homeless..
It is not what we have done, to help mankind..
But what GOD has done to our hearts, so we want to help mankind.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

More of everything. Hospitals, schools, productive employment, families staying together encouraged, redemptive acts in and thru culture, such as the 12 step progams for alcholics, drug addicts, emotionally abused, sexually abused, and opposition to cruelty.
And all of the above repeated throughout the world thru mission agencies and christians in secular fields

It has given man the ability to know the creator of all things...and to provide through knowledge of the word ...salvation... from being eternally seperate from God. and dieing the death of sin. In spite of what some may say...and I'm sorry that they feel that way...but they will stand before an eternal God who will judge their every word...God bless

It gives reasons for people who can't think for themselves a reason to be somewhat moral - People who would be lost without it. The church aspect can also provide a fabulous community and support base for people. They can make fabulous friends and meet people who will help them if the times get rough. Prayer can help heal - just like meditation and positive thinking can.

ecu Christians dedicated the biggest genocide in human heritage hostile to community human beings. They justified this genocide by claiming the community human beings were godless heathens and deserved to die. it really is in straight forward words one party, there are thousands extra. Edit: do not ******* downvote the reality retard. advance up and settle for truth.
