I can't help but notice many nominal Christians spending a lot of time talking about fossils and Neanderthals and dinosaurs instead of talking about God, love, forgiveness, justification, redemption, etc. Creation Science seems to pay right into the Devil's hands, doesn't it?

Of course, Christians ought to be concerned with God, love, forgiveness, justification, redemption, etc--and be sharing these things with as many people as they can reach (WITHOUT shoving their religion down anyone's throats, please!)

Having said that, fossils, Neanderthals and dinosaurs exist, and Christians who deny or try to hide from this information are only fooling themselves.

God and science are not in conflict with one another, after all, God invented science. The conflict is between arrogant theologians who think they know it all, and big headed scientists who know they do. Both groups are in for a nasty shock, I think!

You're talking about creationisn vs evolution, though, aren't you? Maybe we've all become the tools of evil as we butt heads. But some Christians have a calling in science, and I don't mean creationism.

You seem to use the word "nominal" as a judgement. Just as I would when speaking about those who verbally abuse others in the name of Jesus. But I sense that we are actually in agreement on your basic ppoint.

Creationism isn't about the process, therefore isn't science. Science isn't about the First Cause, therefore isn't religion.

Creationism cannot tell you how to set bones or find a cure for smallpox. Science can't get you into heaven. Why do people get these things mixed up?

Science class dismissed.

Let's talk about what Jesus meant when he said "If you love me, feed my sheep." Or "if you have done this for the least of these, you have done it for me"....

Science has done much to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and heal the sick. This should be worth something.

Creation Science is not evil but the uses of the things created by science can be used for evil purposes. For example, ovens were created by early science and they were put to good use baking bread. Hitler and his henchpeople used them for baking people and that was evil. MP3 players, DVDs, Toyota Camrays, Slinkys, Rockem Sockem Robots, and bras were created by science and they were good. (Maybe science didn't create bras, but they were a good idea too, especially the lace ones and the ones with dlj fd j a forget it.)
SO as you can see Creation Science is not evil. Science is not evil. Science is a method of knowing that is some times called empiricism. That is some times opposed to methods of knowing like Revelation, tradition, reason and logic. None of which has invented an MP3 player or even an MP2 player, not even a record player or tape player. Nothing, zilch, no creation. Those methods of knowing suck. They lead people to mental masturbation about devils and such.
IN SUMMARY: Creation Science (sometimes called engineering) is not evil.

I hate it when Christians are obsessed with anti-evolutionary ideals. I'm a christian, and I beleive that God created everything THROUGH evolution. But what does it matter? We're here now, and if you beleive it, God put us here. Don't worry about the past. Worry about to-day. Oh, but I think saying that creation science (if that's what you call it) is EVIL is silly. I just think people take it out of perportion.

No, creation science simply says that life comes from life, not that life comes from matter. The ones who are "evil" or those who are like children, when it comes to science, are those who say that life comes from matter.

We see this everyday, life comes from life, but when has anyone every seen even a small bug being born out of a rock or any kind of matter?

Or a human being being born from a monkey?
No.

Is that really any different than atheist spending time talking about evolution? Or, could atheism be a product of phony science, or could evolution be a product of phony atheism? Either way its bad science.

Concentrating on science instead of religion is definitely taking time away from the more important aspects of religion.

Sorry, I'm not sure what "Creation Science" is. Is it Creationism or Evolution or something else?

I don't think you need to think these people are evil, so much as misguided and as you noted have misplaced their priorities, trying to be what they cannot be (scientists) instead of what they should be (good people).
