It makes perfect sense to package items in doubles. It is easier to make the same size package over and over rather than an extra sized package to fit an odd number of items. For example, if there were 7 buns to a package, there would be empty space enough for an 8th bun. Corporate America is in the business to cram every item into the least amount of space made available while still make a profitable margin.

It's not just Americans. Here in Canada we have the same problem. We either have 2 weiners left over or 2 buns left over. We can get our hot dog buns in 8 pack or 12. Weiners come in 10's.

well they dont have a chose they have to buy it the way the company sells it n the buns n hot dogs r different because if u have 10 hot dogs n 8 buns u have to buy more buns but if u buy more buns u have to buy more hot dogs sothey do that to earn more money because if they dont buy more then the hot dogs wont taste as good with out buns

because the buns always break... so when you buy 2 packs of buns you will get 10 that dont break.
