The War Powers Act of 1973:

SEC. 2. (c)
The constitutional powers of the President as Commander-in-Chief to introduce United States Armed Forces into hostilities, or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, are exercised only pursuant to (1) a declaration of war, (2) specific statutory authorization, or (3) a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.

SEC. 3.
The President in every possible instance shall consult with Congress before introducing United States Armed Forces into hostilities or into situation where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, and after every such introduction shall consult regularly with the Congress until United States Armed Forces are no longer engaged in hostilities or have been removed from such situations.

The Constitution:

Section. 2.

The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

Nothing listed is a) an impeachable offense (The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors) or b) has not happened.

1)Iraq was in violation of a dozen U.N. Resolutions, as well as the treaty signed with the U.S. following the first Gulf War. No power was seized.

2) The administration did not lie to Congress or the american people. In fact, the intelligence used to justify the war was mainly the same intel that Sandy Berger, Bill Clinton, and William Perry used as justification for launching cruise missiles into Iraq in '98.

3) No military fighting force in thehistory of civilization has gone out of their to the extent that the U.S. Military has to avoid civilian casualties. They could have obliterated that country in a week otherwise.

4) The NSA wiretapping was legal, and has not been found otherwise by any legal body.

5) Under Saddam Hussein and his brutal regime, the Iraqi people had neither sovereignty nor independence, and to suggest otherwise would be a gross misrepresentation of either term.

6) I say execute, assasinate, and imprison any bastard plotting the deaths of Americans or AMerican soldiers.

That's getting ahead of ourselves. We cannot impeach until the Democrats take back the House. The best thing you can do is work towards that. If your congressman is a Republican, volunteer for his opponent. If a Democrat but in a narrow race, again, volunteer for him. If a Democrat in a safe race, find a race in another district in your state that fits one of the first two categories and volunteer there. That's where your energy will be best spent. If you have some extra cash lying around there are a whole mess of contested districts where the Dems could use a hand. See the website below for details.

This will be fun!! This posting is evidently by someone naive, young, a Democrat, and never served in the military, parroting mantra they heard from someone else that never researched the evidence. They throw out innuendo with no proof at all. I used to be a Democrat too. I know the game. I'll answer each question one by one and hopefully, if I'm wrong, someone will point it out in the same manner ( by number ) with proof as to where I'm
wrong, not with innuendo.

Answer to #1:"Seizing power to wage wars of aggression in defiance of the U.S. Constitution, the U.N. Charter and the rule of law". LOL !!! Congress voted to allow the invasion of Iraq because Saddam Hussein violated U.N sanctions for 11 YEARS!!!! Your Democratic candidate John Kerry had been pressuring both Clinton and Bush to attack Iraq since 1998!! If you are intellectually honest, go here to see his comments:

The death and maiming of over 100 thousand Iraqi's? That is so disengenious it doesn't deserve a comment. Maybe you're talking about the more than half a million Iraqi citizens Hussein killed. I think you got your stats mixed up. By the same token, the U.S. soldiers were volunteers, as I was. Believe me, these are proud men and women over there that volunteered for this job, are proud of it, and know they have a chance of dying. Make no mistake about that! I wouldn't expect you to understand. There are people in this world that have guts to sacrifice so you have the freedom to post and criticize here what you don't understand.

2) Lying to the people of the U.S., to Congress, and to the U.N., providing false and deceptive rationales for war.

3) Authorizing, ordering and condoning direct attacks on civilians, civilian facilities and locations where civilian casualties were unavoidable.

Answer to #3: Yeh, right!!! Innuendo. Let's be genuine and honest here. Do you really think our military and leaders would do this? Would you? How are you different than any man or woman in uniform? I have a sense that maybe you would consider doing it if ordered, so you assume anybody else would. There is such a thing that is sworn to called the "Code of Military Justice", and it is followed by all the men and women in the military. For you to think that hundreds of thousands of Americans in uniform would not abide by this code and follow orders that you have insinuated is sick. Must suck being you. I couldn't live with myself thinking that all around me are Americans that just can't wait to murder. I think I'd move somewhere in the Middle East where love and kindness is rampant and I wouldn't have to live among these scheming and murdering Americans.

4) Instituting a secret and illegal wiretapping and spying operation against the people of the United States through the National Security Agency.

Answer to #4:
The calls being monitored are International calls of known foreign nationals. They're legal. Get a grip and be real.

5) Threatening the independence and sovereignty of Iraq by belligerently changing its government by force and assaulting Iraq in a war of aggression.

Answer to #5:
Ask the Iraqi people. Who are you to speak for them?

6) Authorizing and condoning assassinations, summary executions, kidnappings....the list goes on & on!

Answer to #6:
Come on now, let's get real stupid!!! Every accusation you have made is exactly what Al-Qaida does!!! And here you are accusing Americans of doing it. You keep drinking your Kool-Aid!
I'll stay here and you move to Iran. I'll be happy because I'm here and you're in Iran. And you'll be happy because I'm here and you're in Iran. Ya think!!!

No, why would I want to do that? I voted for him twice and I'd vote for him again and you people will do nothing when signing up but waste your time. The only ones who believe YOUR lies are liberals. He hasn't done anything impeachable, dufus brain.

I voted for him twice, and while I do not agree with everything he does (amnesty for criminal aliens for example) I support him!!
