The fish are affected by the atmospheric pressure. The higher the pressure the better the fishing. If a low front comes in it takes the fish a couple days to "recover" from it. The fish are also affected by the moon. If it is a new moon then the fishing should be really good.

In my opinion the best place to lake fish is in Thompson Nicola region of BC Canada. If you are looking for ocean fishing anywhere off of the west coast of Vancouver Island great halibut fishing this year. (I'm from BC and I love the fishing here.)

look for underwater structure. Fish live in structure. Fallen trees, rocks, etc. They have to have structure for laying eggs and for hiding. Also look for a deep hole with not a lot of water movement. I fish on the river and I fill a stringer every weekend. It's all about the structure.

The weather affects it pretty much and when you have high baromic pressure god deep and low pressure fish shallow. look for area's that have a food source or where their is acess to deeper water and also on points. good luck and go catch them

Here is a big ole bag of worms....Excuse the pun....Air pressure....The higher the pressure the deeper and lees apt the fish are to bite. Water clarity, food supplies just to name a few.

That's a very general question. Location is important, also the phases of the moon, weather, temp., water clarity, wind, and time of year.

Food supply and Location, location, location.
Fish love the comfort of cover. you know obstacles in the water.
trees, rocks. ledges, any change or transition in depth.
