Everybody's close-minded to some extent...look at all the Christians who argue amongst themselves!

But as a science-believing Christian, I would say that those who believe only what they can see, or can prove with man's very limited knowledge of everthing scientific and won't consider other options, they're certainly more narrow-minded if not closed-minded!

There's a problem here...

Does the one who believes in a supreme being accept the possibility that this is the only life they will have, etc.?

Does someone who doesn't believe in a supreme being or miracles, not believe its possible that a supreme being exists, or miracles could occur?

I conclude they are both equal in their mindedness, given the fact that they both hold open the possibility of the other being right, but don't think it likely.

Cases of logically impossible events (square circles, burning ice, etc.) are rejected by both for valid reasons.

So throwing in the "accepts everything is possible" is loading the question at the start and a blatant lie.

The second one is definetly more close minded. And despite popular belief..there is a lot of scientific evidence for Christianity and the creation theory. Check out http://www.drdino.com for more information.

I just cannot understand, why everything must be just as much as we can see(Attention! I say "we CAN see")? And why otherwise, it's called "close minded act"?..

Actually, you haven't seen something that science cannot tell? Or, you haven't heard? I heard so many, even it's not always related to "Holy" people, there are many examples of unusual things, even today!

I think, you also should read what things science cannot tell! There are many things, still couldn't get answers!..

If we apply the science only, we only limit ourselves to the knowledge of what exists.

Yet, who created us, and why we existed and how we should operate should be sourced from the manufacturer manual.

If am sure Science agrees with the aforesaid statement.

In Islam, science is really praised as means to help Mankind reach ultimatily to God. So even God stated to us the role of Science.

I believe the first is more close minded, because they believe they know all there is to know, and all they NEED to know. The second proposition is constantly changing based on new data, and they are always open to new data, and they know that there is alot they DON'T know.

Being open to change your pricipal hypothesis based on new data is, in my opinion, the very definition of open minded. Being closed to any new data, because you already know it all is closed minded.

Man is the most intelligent???
That's why we have wars, rapes and murders.
That's why we have politicians that rob the American People with the laws they pass.
That's why divorce is so rampant in America.
We are the most intelligent, Oh GOD help us all.

neither position itself is closeminded- it's all about the person- not the belief. Anytime you shut your mind to a possiblitiy you become,by defintion, closeminded. No one is all knowing- no matter what their faith or creed- so the real question is- are you happy with your choices and are you open to new ideas?
