there is this guy that i havent seen or talked to in a year. he has been away at the army or something. well he lives down my road and i saw him riding his 4wheeler on the road in front of my house so i know he is back for the summer or something. should i call him? and if so what do i say to him?

Dont call him. stop by his house. I am in the Navy, and i would much rather have a friend just show up and surprise me than get a phone call. So, just go over to say hi. Dont expect to stay for along time, but if he invites you to stay, alright. But just see how hes doing

If u really like him, u should call him. U should first say that u guys havn't seen each other in a long time and that u would like to catch up. Ask him to diner or the movies and let nature take its course!

Next time you see him, begin by saying something like "Hi! I didn't know you were back." or "Hi! nice to see you're back." Then ask him something like "were you in the army?" Take it from there, depending on his answer. Subtly begin a conversation about films, or something he may be interested in, and maybe ask if he'd like to go to the cinema for a film. Best regards.

Are you involved with someone else? If yes, DON'T DO ANYTHING/ If no, consider your options. He's only visiting, and I'm sure that you can find a question re: long-distance relationships (as Answers has seemed to have a rash of them lately).

get a friend or two and call and invite him to go to ice cream or a movie or something. Don't scare him away by asking him to do something alone with you since it sounds like you dont know him well. Just say something like, "Hey, I noticed you're back in town. Wanna go to wherever with me and so and so?"

being in the army myself depends on the guy. Deployments affected a few of my guys so now they can't fucntion properly in front of females. If you really like this guy be prepared to be very patient. as much as i hate to say it ,he's kinda like a pet your gonna have to train him.(assuming he's been affected by his experiences).
