no, you have to exercise one or the other separately. do stomach crunches for upper abs, and leg lifts are good for lower abs. I hold a medicine ball between my knees while I do leg lifts to get to the burn faster. When doing this it helps to put your hands face down on the floor underneath your butt, and let your butt bones rest on your knuckles. This takes some strain off your lower back.

I agree with the above post except that the upper and lower abs are one big muscle. You can't work one without working the other. You may be able to isolate them alittle, but all in all they all work. His exercise is a good one.
Try going to "body for life workout" they have pics and everything. It's easier to send you there than to try to explain a whole bunch of them. Also Pilate's is all core exercises, you might want to go to your search engine and type in "Pilate's ab work" and I'll bet you can find a bunch there too. Hope this helps some........

get upside down or on a steep decline and do situps afterwards do leg lifts and situps
