The truth lies somewhat in between your choices. A person may be born with more of a susceptibility to a same-sex attraction than another person, but the decision to practice homosexual behavior is a choice.

Same-sex attraction in some cases is a result of the actions of a homosexual seducer. Many times those who consider themselves homosexuals can no longer remember the incident which cause them to turn to homosexuality, but many others do remember it.

In some cases the way people react to a guy who seems a little feminine, or a girl that seems a little masculine, causes them to begin to harbor the secret belief that they are in fact homosexuals. When you treat a child like he is a certain "type" then the child tends to fulfill your expectations.

The problem is compounded when the individual makes no attempt to direct his or her thoughts away from homosexual feelings. Any feeling is magnified when we choose to dwell on it and nurture it.

In some ancient societies virtually all the men practiced homosexual behavior. This cannot be explained on the basis of having been born that way. When you study the way they took the boys away from their homes and seduced them into homosexual practices you get an idea of how it is done. It may not have been much of a choice for an ancient Greek who knew of no other way to behave.

Born that way. Recent studies have shown that there are significant differences between the brains of homosexuals (both male & female) and straights. Besides, teenage homosexuals (most know they're gay by high school) have the highest suicide rate of any group, and many go through pure hell. Why would anyone CHOOSE to go through that? Also, since they are born that way, they were MADE that way by God. Why would God make someone a certain way if he didn't want them to BE that way?

And "Paradise", if all sins are the same, they why isn't "Thou shalt not be a homosexual" one of the commandments? You can't stretch "Adultery" to include homosexuality, "Adultery" has a very clear definition. God said, there are LOTS of sins, but these are the ones bad enough to specifically ban. Homosexuality was not there.

Both.

True homosexuals I've talked to said they knew from age 4 or 5 what they liked. I belive them.

Science says the Genome has some indicators that might show a sexuality preference, but this is still in the experimental stage.

Most girls I know say guys will F--- anything on 2 or 4 legs.

Guys who can't get girls because of facial or weight problems get it anyway the can. This is factual. Guys like "getting off." Girls like being loved.

Most homosexuals are heavily into sex. Far more than heteros.

It's about getting off.

True Homosexuals will, like girls, live without sex or limited sex if it means satisfying a deeper need (that's the real ones).

"Made" homosexuals like getting off by the touch of someone else rather than their own touch.

That's scratching an itch.

True (born) homosexuals care more about the person (they are attached to) than the satisfaction of physical pleaure.

They are, essentially, just like girls.

Girls will stay in a marriage that is abusive or one in which they hate sex but do it because it makes "him" feel good. They put "his" feelings before their own.

True homosexuals will also do this from time to time.

Those addicated to discharge or touch just care about the touch, it don't matter what the source is or if you really like them.

It's about the Squirt.

I'd like to know where science says that homosexuals were "obviously" born that way. To the best of my knowledge, science does not say that at all.

Nonetheless, I do not believe that homosexuals make a choice, and consequently, they deserve just as much dignity and respect as anyone else. This is not a blank check for homosexuals to go off and act however they want, though. Homosexuality is not evil in and of itself... Acting out is what's evil, for the same reason that acting out heterosexually out of wedlock, or masturbation, is evil.

Homosexuality is the act of having sex with a partner of the same sex. It requires a choice to do that.
Tendency for affection for the same sex or identification with the opposite sex one can be born with.
The debate is whether or not it is normal to be that way.
Also whether or not it is normal to have sex with the same sex.

Everyone makes their choices based on their background understanding.

Conservative thought speaks mostly based on Biblical standards.

Liberal thought speaks mostly based on popular feelings and to whether or not anyone is really is hurt in the process.

I, myself, believe the Biblical standard.
Included with that, homosexuality has been recognized as a behavioral disorder up until the 1970s when it was removed from the mental disorder list with no medical explanation.
There are other scientific reasonings involved also but I'll leave it here.

People aren't born with much of any tendencies. People develop behavioral traits as they grow up as well as likes and dislikes.

People are also in control of what they do. I personally love cookies and would like to eat them all the time. Does that mean that I have no choice but to eat only cookies? Of course not. I chose to eat foods that will nourish my body. Some people may feel sexually attracted to the same sex, young children, or even animals. That doesn't mean they were born that way, or that they should act upon those urges.

I honestly do not know the answer to that. I have read that there are studies being done to see if it is some sort of genetic predisposition but I don't think the studies are completed as yet. Either way, I believe the practice of homosexuality is wrong and I do believe whether born that way or choosing to be that way, doesn't matter as much as a decision not to practice it and to try to practice chastity.

If you accept that homosexuals were "born that way," then you also must accept that cheating spouses were "born that way," as well as promiscuous people. How is it that only Gays are defined by their sexuality. Everybody else chooses to do right or wrong? If I have sex with 15 different people in a week, nobody's going to say I was born that way.

Well, since I'm bisexual, I guess I qualify as about half homosexual.
So I'll take a swipe at this.
All I know.. is that I didn't choose to be attracted to females as well as males. Like others have said, something was always different from a young age.
I largely believe that it is primarily genetic (i.e., not a choice), but perhaps slightly affected by environment as well. I just HATE it when people who aren't gay or bi decide that they KNOW we choose to be the way we are. They have no idea.
Besides, what's the big deal anyway? I mean.. it's not like we're trying to convert you to homosexuality or anything.
I think people are just uncomfortable with dudes kissing. And doing other things.

Why do people have to beat this drum? Why can't you just let others alone?

Homosexuality is shown to be largely a physical phenomenon, although there was a headline today about a study aying men whith older brothers are morre likely to be homosexual. I didn't read the story; the topic largely is a non-issue.

Unless, of course, a person is homosexual and (once again) suffering from the depredations of a rising anit-gay tide, or is a "Christian" trying to prove a nasty point.

So what's YOUR point?
