hon again I am a nutritionist
if your child is gaining weight steadily and your doctors are aware that he is there is no reason to be concerned with how many ounces of formula he is consuming
to the women that recommended giving an infant solids The American Academy of Pediatrics, the World Health Organization, and many other health organizations recommend that babies be exclusively breastfed (no cereal, juice or other foods) for the first 6 months of life. Some doctors may recommend delaying solids for the first year if there is a family history of allergies. I'm not going into the many health benefits of delaying solids here

honestly, i wouldnt worry too much, if he wasnt getting enough he wouldnt be gaining weight or having 5 wet diapers a day. some babies just dont eat as much. my daughter ate like a bird too, she still does, at 10 months old, she still only drinks 4 oz at a time. i know its hard not to worry but i think the doctors are right on this one. if he crys and doesnt take the bottle maybe hes not hungry, maybe hes gassy, or just wanting to be held.

My grand daughter is 2 1/2 months. She now weighs 12 lbs. She drinks about 30 oz. a day. Are you sure your mixing the formula with water? What do you mean, won't take milk? He won't take more formula?

Formula ( Water plus some powder lookin' thing shakin' up and fed to a baby though a bottle.) is a good food for a baby, my little brother seems to be content with it, if your doctors say he is okay, he probably is, but if the whole formula idea seems good to you, go for it.

Try putting a very small amount of baby cereal in his bottle. You don't want to plug the nipples of the bottle up. If breast feeding try feeding him a small amount out cereal on a baby spoon, make sure its very liquidity. Every child is different maybe he is getting enough. Use barley cereal it is not as gassy as the others.

Maybe he is lactose intolerant and so it hurts his stomach to drink milk based formulas. Try putting him on soy based formula and just see if he does any better. You are right to think he is crying like he's hungry...he is...but the milk formula is probably making him hurt. Best wishes

i'd attempt giving it in sippy cups, straw cups, or maybe commonplace cups. He gained't like nursing a bottle and in uncomplicated phrases needs to nurse mommy. i have heard of nursing strikes the position the baby gained't nurse yet will take a bottle, i imagine you're dealing with the option difficulty! do not difficulty, a ten month previous isn't attempting to wean himself. save nursing and do not sweat it. he's eating solids so he's not any longer ravenous once you're seperated. yet another concept is to operate breastmilk to solids, if he likes gentle ingredients. and performance you seen donating your extra frozen breastmilk to a milkbank or privately to a touch one in favor?

Are you breastfeeding or formula feeding? If it's breast, maybe something in your diet is making your milk unappetizing to him (spicy foods, too many gas-causing foods that upset his stomach, etc.) If you're formula feeding, maybe he's lactose intolerant or needs a hypoallergenic formula?
