Bible-thumping heterosexuals everywhere seem to think that homosexuality is a choice. But when these same heterosexuals wake up every morning, they know without a shadow of a doubt that they like the opposite sex. They could never choose to be with the same sex. Just like when homosexuals wake up they know that they cannot be with the opposite sex and when bisexuals wake up they can be with either sex. How can this be a choice?

With the exception of people who just like to have sex with anyone and do it for just the fun of it. Let's face it there is way more to it then just a choice. You are right because I know 100% that I enjoy the opposite sex. I have been and seen enough to know almost all homosexuals are born that way. These bible thumpers base everything on fear. Fear because they don't know 100% that when they die they don't just do nothing. They confuse faith and spirituality. With things written so so so long ago with no proof whatsoever other than what was told to them.

Many drug addicts feel the same way. Didn't you know that? Many alcoholics feel they cant change, that its just something a part of their lives.

They made a choice to start these to begin with. We are not talking about the poor unfortunate children that are born addicts because of their parents lack of self control - but those who made the conscious choice to do so.

NON THE LESS... mankind is born to sin. Violence being a sin is a trait that comes naturally to a child. A baby that never has seen violence before strikes out at another baby over a toy - its an instinct.

Homosexual behavior however does not show up until his or her body becomes sexually mature - its not evident at birth nor the toddler years. It comes because of certain visual stimulation or sadly in some cases due to sexual abuse.

Sinners sin. I don't care if it is homosexuality or infidelity or fighting or cursing or beating the living hell out of a fellow human being - sin is sin and that was what we were born to do. Rebellious, self seeking, self indulgent sin.

Even the most mild unsaved person who seemingly would not hurt a fly has sins in his or her life. We can sin even if we locked ourselves away to not sin. A sinful thought is nothing. A sinful thought that is entertained and played with in the mind does in fact qualify as a sin because it becomes a product of enjoyment.

Saved people are not superior to sinners - we all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. We simply found we can be redeemed from the death that sin brings, and avoid eternal punishment due sin.

Sin is like a disease.., a disease that until Jesus came, had no cure. Sin is a fatal disease and God will not allow it to cross over to contaminate the new heaven and earth he has prepared for those who love him.

No more will a man harm his brother or covet his neighbor's wife or abuse his own body in a distorted sexual desire. No more will people beat their children to death and say the devil made them do it. The new heaven and new earth will be free of these and it does little good to gripe and complain about one's rights to sin.

Just like in the human court. It does not matter that one feels he had a right to do drugs or kill his neighbor over a pet, or whatever. The law is the law and the law seeks to create an environment that is safe for all, and insure all can at least be civil.

I'm not against gays or anything, in fact I have many gay friends, but I'm still wondering how gay men can have kids. Technically they like the same sex, so just like heterosexuals don't like same sex, homosexuals shouldn't like the opposite sex, but many gay men have children, which require them to have sex with the opposite sex. If kids came through gay sex, I'd definitely wouldn't be able to have kids. So I guess what I'm saying is that , that is a point against the whole "homosexuals are born" thing.

Being heterosexual or homosexual is totally about choice. Do you chose to like chocolate cake and hate broccoli? No, but you do chose weather or not you will eat something you like or don't like. Sex is the same way. You may be attracted to someone who is the same sex as you, but the act of sexual intercourse with that person is a choice that you make.

Yes.

Okay, before I go into all of it, let me say this is only true of SOME.

Some heterosexuals and homosexual at heart, but due to society, or religion, or whatever, will choose to live a heterosexual life.

Some homosexuals are hetrosexual at heart, but due to bad expieriences, or society, they will choose the live a homosexual life. (I know this personally, on at least two accounts of good friends)

Im looking for the link, but a recent poll of homosexuals states that only 10% of the population feels they were born that way, while 22% said they choose it.

That said, I see your point, and I think this whole condemnation of homosexuals by religion is really tired, and the religious right need to move on to something else, and let them live any way they want to, by choice or by birth.

Hello vampirejasper.. :)

This question has been asked of us so many times..you must not have been on-line when it was asked..or you must have overlooked it..So I will answer it again.. :)

Yes, it is a choice..for both heterosexual and homosexuals..

My sister was openly gay..she lived with a woman for many years..she told me that she thought she was born that way..but after she asked Christ into her heart, she said she knew it was the choice she had made..she is and has been married for over 20 years, has 5 boys and 1 little girl..

Jesus can change ones heart.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ..

I think that the majority just is. It's to (over) populate the planet. I think that most people would never even give it a moment's thought, wondering if they were gay or not. They just know they are meant to be with a partner of the opposite sex. Some of us different, just like with other mammals. It will be interesting to know why we are gay, but I'm afraid that those same bible thumpers will try to 'find a cure'. Don't cure me!!!!!!!

There may have been affects that are and or were severely lacking in the person's life who engages in homosexual activity. Lack of spiritual presence, lack of love, devotion, committment by their parents, lack of community support, messages of okness as they are first introduced to notions that they aren't resonating with the opposite sex.

These are all things that can be filled by Him through his vast ways.

There are plenty of homosexuals who are finding their way back to heterosexuality through Him and through His son.

I think some people do choose that's how you get bisexuals but I think homosexuals for the most part are born that way.

It's not about what feelings of lust you have, lust is lust and it is wrong either way.

It's about your actions, you may not be the one who puts the temptations of heterosexual or homosexual lust into your mind, Satan is, but you decide whether or not to act upon and give into them.

I am a virgin, I have heterosexual feelings for men, and have not acted upon them so far as to have intercourse, though I have kissed men. God did not forbid such action, but He clearly says throughout his Word that homosexuality is detestable and abomination.

If I were to have homosexual feelings for another woman, I would sincerely repent of them, and would certainly not act upon them to do so would be commiting sin; in like manner, if one covets something they have not yet commited theft, but if they then take it without permission they have commited theft.

Humans are by nature sinful, but with the help of God we can at least overcome are sinful acts in the physical world, and perhaps go even so far as to remove them from our thoughts; homosexuality is a sin, you may have such feelings of lust, you may also have feelings of covetness, malice, and doubt (in God), but you have to choose whether or not to act upon them.

You may not be able to remove lust from your mind, but you can at least remove sexually immoral acts from your body.
