No Pope John Paul II is well on his way to sainthood. He taught more than you could ever imagine. Have you read any of his encyclicles? Don't criticize without direct first hand knowledge. He was not bowing down to Mary as an Idol...Mary is our Heavenly mother and she is honored, revered and respected by all Catholics. You'd better get your facts straight before opening your mouth.....You don't have a clue!

Although what you said is true about Pope John Paul being obsessed with Mary, I do believe he was saved through Jesus by asking Jesus in his life. Catholics believe they need to go through Mary because Jesus will listen to her more, which they are highly confused about (I used to be Catholic). None the less, I think that the Pope is with God. That is just my opinion as I can not judge him.

God only knows for sure. I remember reading a news story where a Pastor was castigated for speculating that Pope John Paul II was unsaved because in addition to his devotion to Mary, he had never claimed to be "born again".
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

That will all depend if he accepted Christ as his Savior before he died.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)
Jesus said: "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:5)
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

I'm not one to judge whether or not anyone is burning in hell. I worry about my own salvation
