I always have to have coke, or something with sugar in it while I eat any meal. Also, I wake up in the middle of the night 3 or 4 times and have to eat cookies or something sweet. I have been doing that for years. At work, I crave the candy they have out in display but when I eat it, my sugar drops and I get all shaky and sweaty and will eat anything in sight. Its really weird. Ist his normal?

It sounds like you have an addiction to sugar, and don't feel alone, many people do! Fact is, this is an addiction, and not good for you, as you're overloading your body with way too much sugar. You will need to start eating different foods, and cut way back on the sugars.
Try cutting all the cravings that you're eating in half, you will really seriously need to start eating better, for instance lunch, maybe a Subway, so that you're not hungry enough to eat the sweets at work. I'm thinking that if you will make your meal times better, you won't be as hungry either. Eat a good breakfast, lunch and dinner. Maybe you aren't hungry for breakfast because of your eating in the night. If you don't eat in the night, you'll be ready for breakfast. If you straighten your meals out, you won't be eating so much otherwise. Hope this makes some sense........

It's normal. When you eat high-sugar foods like cookies, you get a temporary sugar high, and then your blood sugar drops dramatically, ergo your shaky, sweaty feeling. The only way to stop this is to eat better foods; the natural sugars in fruits and vegetables will keep you full of sugar for longer.

no its not normal. u might want to cut down on the sweet intake and drink more water. i know this sounds crazy but when u crave sweets drink a glass of water and the craving should decrease or go away this is because ur body is wanting more water in its system and it can change some of that sugar into a way for getting fulfilled the same with water. if ur really worried go see a doctor.

It's not unusual, but you need to get a handle on it. Wean yourself off the high sugar foods, and eat things that are more healthy. Cut out the middle-of-the-night snacking altogether. Sugar highs tend to end abruptly, and leave you wanting more. Get your sweet from fruits and eat more complex carbohydrates, instead of refined sugar and flour and things that have no nutritional benefit anyway.
