Sun-In works well if you use it with care. Here is what you can do: go to the drugstore and purchase a disposable highlight cap (plastic cap with little holes in it) and some disposable plastic gloves (like the ones you get in hair colour kits). The night before you use Sun-In, wash your hair with a deep cleansing shampoo (one designed to remove product build-up), let hair dry naturally, do not use any conditioner or styling products. Next day gently pull hair through cap holes, thick or thin, whatever you fancy. Cover your shoulders with an old towel, put on the gloves. Spray Sun-In on a cotton wool pad until saturated and smear hair strands until they are wet but no dripping too much. Take care not to let Sun-In come into contact with skin! Blast hair with hair dryer while gently combing strands to prevent tangles. When hair is dry, pull off cap and you're done. I do this occasionally; I have brown hair and get lovely coppery highlights. Remember though, this product is very harsh and should not be used often. Make sure you use a good hair masque next time you wash your hair! If you want to add some colour interest later on, use a colour depositing shampoo or mousse. The colour will settle strongly on the porous hair and give you a new look!

I have tried it and i use it when i tan, but it does lighten your hair a little, not that much, but it lightens it pretty well if you stay out there long enough! If you have not reached your potential color then use it more then one day! I hope your hair color works out!
p.s.-they have different levels, use Super, it is the only one that works!

No my cousin used it and her hair turned orangey-pink and her hair used to be black. That stuff has to be dangerous.
