No. To say otherwise festers the false notion that there is no such thing as America and no such thing as an American citizen and their rights.

I don't see any other end to the fact that if you take the power away from the citizens, the citizens will take the power away from the government.

The most basic power a citzen has is to vote - and to allow illegals or any non-citizens that right, silences the citizens voice and leaves you open to all forms of voices that do not have the best interest of our country and government in mind. Had Russia done what the Mexicans did before she fell, we could have their type of government now had the circumstances come to pass. And don't think they didn't think about back then, I read they did.

That is only one example of a citizen's rights. What Mexico is trying to do no other nation on earth succeeded doing to America, and it's time our leaders recognized what is going on and did something about it.

First of all, what are hard working citizens? Many people seem to think that illegals take the jobs away from hard working citizens, but what are hard working citizens? Are hard working citizens people who are always wining and go to the border and sit in a chair, just to patrol it? Many of these people, which I will not mention, seem to me that they are just big winners that say they can't find a job because they are being replaced by illegals. In the first place, they are not even looking for a job because all they are doing is trying to stop good people from coming into this country. People come here from all over the world not just Mexico. They come here to work so that they can send money home and so that their families can have something to eat, just that. They can be illegal, they can be aliens, or they can be called what ever, but to me they are heroes, because of them some people are not starving. Weather they should have the same rights or not, they should not be treated in a way that they are seen as criminals, even if there are some who are criminals, the truth is that in every race there are criminals. I stand up for those who are not criminals, for those that are good people who are working and even if they are treated the way they are, they work hard for their families. I also believe that the U.S. is a great country for allowing immigration, thanks to this many people can have something to eat.

No...they shouldn't. Is it to much for people to earn something any more?. Should the pleasure of being an American be taken or should it be earned? Most in America know that America rewards good and legal behavior and punishes bad illegal behavior. Immigration is no different. We shouldn't reward people because they were able to survive the journey across the desert. Although it is a note worthy feat of endurance the act alone doesn't warrant citizenship.

Where I come from, if you break the law, you go to jail and you lose your right to vote.

With illegal aliens, they break the law, and not only aren't they going to jail, but we want to make them citizens and ~give~ them the right to vote!! These are people with no loyalty towards America - they came here for the money, like a bunch of mercenaries. They work hard and earn money, but their hearts lie with another country - so they should have full rights in that other country, not America.

I am shocked hearing a marine saying such a thing, do you feel the same about the marines of mexican decent that watch your back in iraq who do you think your talking about?
These people are fellow marines familys, mothers, fathers brothers , sisters, wives and infant children some have documents and some are in the process still illegal, so why dont you be part of the process and help them instead of part of the problem.
And you as a marine should be offended at how your fellow marines famlys are treated in this country!

Only if they stay out of trouble and pay their taxes. Right now they have the same rights, except they can't vote, which isn't too bad considering that most citizens don't vote either. By the way, hard working Americans have the same rights as the lazy ones.

No, this is why they are considered felons if caught and deported. Others are encouraged to become citizens to have the rights as an American.

No one said that "illegals" should have the same rights as an American citizen. If that was the case why should they even attempt to obtain citizenship?

The question should be "Should the working poor americans without health insurance get the same free medical benefits as the illegals?"

I'm a little bitter about that one. We have to pay our medical expenses with our hard earned dollars which are few enough.

It`s not an issue of working hard it`s an issue of our immigration policy and there is paper work to fill out to immigrate here legally as in every other country it`s not an over night process so stand in line like any other immigrant from any other country has to do.This is how you get your rights and protection The government has to offer you.

no they shouldn't and if I have to explain why I will ..... First of all us white Americans born and raised here and the ones that work are pretty soon going to be a dying breed. Why is it that the illegals children can go to school free, they don't have to pay taxes or for health care !! I want my free hand out too I'm tired of being in a store and hearing them speak Mexican at a volume level of 50 they don't have to be so loud!!! If and that is a very big IF they have to be here then they can pay their own damn taxes, health care and for their own kids and they can learn to speak English !!!!
