I have a wonderful house, family and job, but I think I love my (male) best friend instead of my hubbie (who is also a wonderful person)

ok- expanded version. I am happy with my husband and family, but whenever he's not around i"m thinking about guy #2. This has been happening for a long time, well over a year. I feel guilty about this, and wonder if this says something about the relationship I have with my husband...

Love is an action, a choice.
Yes, you can get attracted to people, admire them, have fond feelings towards them, but it's what you DO with that, that counts. Feelings come and go, a choice to "love" a person doesn't vary or stray. When you commit to someone, you pledge your faithfulness in thought, word, and deed. You pledge to always consider their best interests, and to sacrifice for them.

Most people occassionally get attracted to, or just lust after, another person, but mature adults with integrity let it be.

Nurture the feeling towards your husband. Spend more time with him than you do your friend. Only share intimate thoughts and feelings and special things with your husband. In short ... choose to treat your husband as your best friend! He should be anyway!

I'm there too. Affairs of the heart are very difficult to control. If what you're not getting from your husband is something you can work on, you should. You have to exhaust it all with him. Trust me, it sounds like a train-wreck. Why do you believe he is your soul mate? If at the end of the day you still believe he is your soul mate and the right person for you, you need to go be with him and be true to yourself and your spouse.

Sounds as if you have a wonderful life. Why would you want to mess that up? Its normal to fantasize but that's as far as it should go. I recommend that you forget all about your husband's best friend and love the one you married.
