We are created extensions of God's character (Love), damaged by choosing sin.
Our purpose is to recognize and accept Him as our Creator, Lord, and Saviour.
Afterwards, to spread the good news that eternal life with Him in perfection is free for the choosing.
Love cannot be forced, it must give a choice to love back.
After all have made their choice, sin will be expunged from His creation, thereby producing a creation that loves Him back FREELY of their own will.

I'm an athiest and there is no such thing as an evolutionist, it's just a name made up by people who think science is too hard and would rather believe mythology.
We are here because the laws of physics dictate how matter and energy will behave and everything you see and everything you are is a result of that. It's mind blowing and humbling, yes, but it's not magic!
Of course there is no purpose to our existence because there is no evidence that we were created with any conscious intent. Again mind blowing for some, but very reasonable.
Each intelligent person must define their own purpose in life and follow it. Most people have decided that their purpose is to propegate their own families and work together in a spirit of brotherhood to make life better on earth. Some have decided that it's their life's purpose to understand science and the natural world to the best of their ability.
Some people have made it their life's purpose to spread mythology and pray to supernatural gods and creatures.
Everyone is different.

I don't understand your comment. The vast majority of people who believe in God also believe in evolution. The Catholic Church, for example, thinks that evolution is part of God's plan. That's half the Christian polulation (and a sixth of the world's polulation ) right there.
It is only a sad minority of people who insist on taking part of the Bible literally who think this is a problem.
I say they take part of the Bible literally, because most people who believe in creationism do not believe in transubstantiation. I find it laughingly funny that these people get so upset when people say that Genesis should be taken symbolically, but then they take the very words of Jesus symbolically when he says "This is my body" and "This is my blood."
How can you have it both ways? How is it that God is not allowed to tell the creation story symbolically, but he is symbolic in telling his followers how to become saved?
Oh yeah -- our purpose here is to learn the truth and to question authority. So far, you are failing.

A lot of people look for purpose in the future. The only purpose we have for existance is in the past- because our mother and father made it that way.

Why do people feel the need for a greater "purpose"? Can we not simply enjoy life and love our families without needing to feel somehow more special than we are just by being born?

We're here because of unthinking, undirected natural processes (including evolution) and more proximally because of the intentional or unintentional actions of our parents. Our purpose is therefore whatever we wish it to be.

When I'm at work, I'm here to earn a living. I'm here to support my family. I'm here to earn my boss a profit. I'm here to learn. I'm here to teach. I'm here to help others with their problems. I'm here to seek help. I'm here to gain satisfaction from a job well done. I'm here for a hundred different reasons.
When you ask "why are we here", the answer is "for many different reasons".
