how do guys notice girls? personality? appearance? which first?

how to describe myself?
I'm shy.
But i'm not.
i have my opinions.
but most of the time i'm listening to those of others.
i want to talk all the time.
but somehow i can't find my voice most of the time.
every year i tell myself to be loud in class.
and every year i'm not.
i'd love to have a bf.
or just someone who's always there for me
i have very very close friends
but it's not the same, you know?
i want to talk to him, laugh with him (soemtimes at him ahha)
sing to him, dance with him (or for him lol), read to him
have him read to me
i'm an only child
you can't blame me for being lonely
so ...
i love myself, i do.
i don't complain about being fat or skinny here or there
or wish out loud about how i could change myself
wouldn't i be, then, the ideal gf? hahaha
so if i could just let myself go
and share my thoughts
would they notice?

wow... that's almost poetic. seriously.

now as to your question, most guys notice looks first. after all, they see you before they talk to you. it's only now that online dating, chatrooms, and email penpals that have taken over that personality has a chance to shine before your appearance does.

while looks are what will initially reel a guy in, it's personality that makes him stay. you know how parents used to tell their kids looks don't matter as much as personality? well they're half right.

looks are necessary in a relationship. if you can't feel something physically for the person you like personality wise then you WILL have problems. and while not everyone has a supermodel body or superhero looks, they usually have one feature that is their best (eye's, hair, smile, and yes.. their body too)

now that they have a starting/point of interest. the fun begins and the personalities of the individuals comes out and you find out whether you are compatible with each other. this is where a cute or plain girl can become beautiful in the eyes of a guy... and where a guy who at his best can only rate "cute" uses a sense of humor to go a bit higher in the scale to a "really cute" (or so i've been told :P)

this is also where a really hot girl can show how shallow and empty headed she can be... just like the bad boy "hot" guy can show how his head is comparible to a piece of wood (yes yes i know... these are sterotypes... but they are stereotypes for a reason. i.e. there were enough instances that it BECAME a stereotype. i know there are exceptions to the rule, trust me, i've met them)

your looks let them know there is a girl nearby... your personality lets them know that YOU are nearby. hope this helped ;)

ok.. here is the order in which I notice a woman.

1st- of course, there is her looks.. I know that it may be shallow, but looks are a little bit important when it comes to approaching a woman.

2nd- The way she interacts with others. If she is with a group of friends, and she seems to be very positive around them, I can almost guarantee that I will feel positive about approaching her.

3rd- And the last thing I look for before approaching a woman is prolonged eye contact. If she looks into my eyes for more that 1/2 a second, I know that she is at least a little bit interested, to the point where an approachment by me wont be cruelly shunned down

Looks will mostly come first, but you do not want the ones that stop there. You should speak out a little bit more and maybe just be friendly. Pick a person that you think might be similiar as you or some one that could get a long with. Talk with them and see how it goes from there. Most guys will talk and get to know any nice girl. Things can progress from there.

Personality, just doesn't show up, unless you are talking and with someone, for some time.

I notice looks first, a down to earth subtle beauty is the most engaging. A lot of girls have the misconception that guys need girls to look like models. Simply not true, average girls with a slight hint of nerdiness to them are the hottest in my book.

As for me and possibly most guys, the appearance (including how approachable she presents herself) draws me in but its ultimately the personality and her intelligence that'll make me stay. If she's hot as hell but can't turn a computer on if her life depended on it and all she cared about was jocks and celebrities with no real intelligent thought upstairs then forget about it.

I look at their rear end first. I love big butts! Then I look at the face! Then I see how clean she is and her appearance, and then her personality. I know it should be the other way around in this cycle. However, guys are different than girls. Always remember that!

In most cases appearance comes first simply because that is the first thing about the person you notice. I fell for my ex wife before I ever saw her in person, I met her in yahoo personals, she didn't have a pic (she only had a webtv) I got to know her personality before I ever saw her in person.

So It was her personality that attracted me initially.

However I don't always get to know them before I see them usually it happens the other way around.

i tend to notice smile and eyes first to see if the girl looks like she wants to talk to me, from there i pay attention to the laugh. I always love making a girl laugh.
