Take it from me ..I am a Vet assistant. Please take the dog to the local animal hospital. I am not sure where you live but large cities have 24 hour animal hospitals. Don't take a risk because there may be injuries that you cannot see. Once you notice the signs of an internal injury it could be too late! Not a risk to take with man's best friend. Tylenol will not hurt the dog if it is a small dose. However Tylenol wouldn't take away an animals pain like it would a humans. Don't take a risk!

Absolutely not. You have to remember that animal's body weight is different than humans. Giving a cat Tylenol is almost certainly a death sentence. It would be the same as giving a human a plate full of pills. The same is true for dogs. Each year, thousands of people are poisoned by acetaminophen, especially if alcohol is used. Tylenol can cause irreversible liver damage. Giving small animals aspirin can cause them to bleed to death. Take the dog to the vet.

She could have seizures as a result of getting hit in the head.
Your friend should take her to the vet for a check-up and be given a list of symptoms to watch for due to the head injury. Never give a dog human meds without checking with a vet first. They can react quite differently to medications.
Another reason a dog pants other than when trying to cool off is when it feels pain/discomfort/stress.

My Labrador was hit in the head by a car a few years ago and the vet said that they have remarkably strong skulls...but that doesn't mean that your lab doesn't have a small internal capillary bleeder. Tylenol may aggravate it for all we know. IF you can't afford a vet... I would call the vet at least..they can advise you on the phone. don't give aspirin...it thins the blood and makes bleeding worse.

Take the dog to the vet. I'm not sure, but I don't think Tylenol is good for dogs...or if it is, I doubt it would have any effect. If the vet says its OK, you could try. Head injuries are tricky though, best to bring it to the vet.

You really need to tale the dog to the vet to get a check-up for any kind of injuries not visible.
Acetaminophen is sold in over 100 products in pharmacies, over the counter, without a prescription. It is known as Tylenol, Tempra, and Panadol to name a few products. While acetaminophen (APAP) enjoys a reputation of safety and effectiveness for humans, it is probably one of the worst medications that can be administered to a dog or a cat. Acetaminophen represents the most common fatal drug poisoning in cats and has also been responsible for many deaths in dogs. Between 1992 and 1997, the ASPCA Poison Control Center received 1,464 calls about dogs and cats having ingested APAP. While acetaminophen can be used safely in most dogs under the supervision of a veterinarian, there is no safe dose recommended for cats. APAP toxicity in cats is almost exclusively due to intentional administration by humans, and doses as small as 163 mg (1/2 of a regular strength acetaminophen tablet) have resulted in death.
You can give a dog aspirin. Since it is a big dog give one aspirin.

You should definitely call a local vet clinic and ask the vet or vet tech. Every dog is different. It can have a bad reaction with the dog. Call and make sure it is safe. I remember hearing that it isn't good for a dog, but not 100% positive.

NO NO NO Never Tylenol!!
You can give plain Bufferin. But take the dog to the vet first,if there is internal bleeding aspirin/bufferin/Tylenol etc will thin the blood causing a bigger problem.

probably, my lab full grown got ahold of a tylenol bottle with like 10 left and ate them all i was freakin out and like 6 months later hes happy and fine .
but i wouldnt recomend ten ! if you are worried that you could hurt him, just give him a half of one, your dog will be fine.
also keep our eye on him, if hes bleeding in the head, you may want to take him to a vet, he could have head trama.
if he appears to be fine and not acting up then give him a half tylenol.
