I feel certain that if I wait long enough, she will come and tell.

My experience was very short. I fried 1/4 pounders for a couple of days, (round xmas time, when about 16) when, all of a sudden, I was miraculously taken ill with "Bornholm's disease".

OK, wipe up the coffee and I can continue.

I can't remember what the symptoms were exactly, but I stayed in bed for a few days, and most importantly, didn't ever have to go back there.

I felt really bad, knowing that the guys I had worked with for 2 days had no real choice, and for some of them, it looked like a life sentence.

Fine, ok, you want me to tell you do you? Well then it wasn't like I was flipping burgers or sweeping floors you know. I was a "party organiser". It was really horrible. I mean, it was bad enough to be working there but I ended up as supervisor after I havd only been there a couple of weeks because everyone else just left. Well anyway, here's my excuse. It was my first paid job, or was it my second? Yeah first cos the one before didn't count. Well I was 19, not long left college and 5 or 6 months pregnant so I was hardly going to be given a proper job. I think I left after about 2 months. Didn't bother telling them but then I don't think they noticed. The parties were rubbish anyway. If you want to do anything for your child's birthday, DO NOT have a party at McDs. They are so not worth it. More hassle and expense than just having a party at home. There was one time when there was a group of people who were all vegetarian and all the kids wanted fish fingers(yes I know that's dumb, a)for saying you are a veggie and eating fish and b)for going to McDs in the first place if you are a veggie) but we had to give the order to the 12 year olds who were cooking!(well they might have been 15-17)And then I went to get the food and they were all burgers. I couldn't work with people that dumb(well I did again actually at a factory but that's another story). Anyway, the mum who was paying for the party was not pleased and said she wanted to speak to the manager, so I was like "Go ahead, I don't blame you" and she said she wouldn't pay and if it was up to me she wouldn't have done but the mean manager made her pay anyway, and I thuoght how horrible that was when they had made such a huge mistake. They should have sacked whom ever had made the burgers instead of the fingers.

Yep - it was the only near place that hired when we were 15. So my friend and I made them give us the same hours - it was busy as hell, but it gave us some extra spending cash.

You learn how to hate people. This one lady handed my back a cheese burger and said "This is too greasy." I'm like "......Do you know where you are?"

I worked there for 3 months in New-Jersey. We were like slaves there. I cleaned tables, toilets and kitchen. Then i made burgers and didn`t wash my hands. Management is rubish there as well as food. Only shcool boys and mexicans can work in that hell.

It was my first job and I worked there for 6 miserable months. I didn't eat the food again for years, and now don't eat it at all after watching the documentary "SuperSize Me".

Yep, and I have no regrets whatsoever. I learned a lot of useful skills; patience, business management, people skills, and most of all...
