Cover it up with a mat or something that will prevent the cat from thinking it is rightfull of it to pee there!Dont let you cat down there, and also be sure to make sure your cat knows it has a kitty litter and make sure it knows where it is also another suggestion is to disciplineyour cat everytime it doesnt pee there it give it a treat if itll catch on soon enough and will no longer pee in your basment

I'd use a pet odor remover product in that area. Make sure his litter box is kept clean-- cats often refuse to use the box if it's not kept to their liking. If the cat insists on peeing in that one spot, I'd just put a litter box there. Is your cat only going in the wrong place in this one area? If this is the case, I'd think it's probably just because he likes the texture of the broken cement bits. However, if he's going in other inappropriate spots I'd talk to the vet, bc this can be a sign of a urinary tract infection.

You should not hit him, EVER. Cats DO NOT understand punishment and he will probably attack you when you are sleeping. You need to grab him and stick his nose in the urine on the floor for a second and then run him over to the litter box and put him in it. If he's smart he'll put 2 & 2 together. Short of that, if he continues this behavior you will have to go to the vet. Also, get a squirt bottle and fill it with cold water, if you ever catch him in the act squirt him and carry him over to his litter box. I know you said it already so I know that you scoop everyday so it can't be that his litter box is dirty. There's something wrong.

Maybe you should cover the area that has broken cement with an indoor/outdoor porch mat, or something, until kitty loses interest. Or use quick-mix cement to fill it in and smooth it out.

Also, make sure that the poopy-box (as we call it in our house lol) is kept extremely clean and well stocked with kitty's favorite litter.

The cat urine smell will only make the cat further think it is a place to pee. Mop it up really good and spray some odor removers and fragrances to cover it up.

Also consider not letting your cat in the basement at all

Um, well let's see...common sense says fix the floor or keep the cat out of the basement. You might also want to take kitty to the vet to rule out a urinary tract infection, which lots of times makes them urinate outside of the box.

First saturate the area with bleach to kill the odor. Then cover it with an upside-down laundry basket until it dries. Then cover the area with something, a box, a rug, anything that will keep the cat from going back to that area.

I think it's called nature's merical it's a red and white bottle and that will clean up the urine and deture them from peeing there.
