Mostly Gin with a splash of Dry Vermouth! It should be stirred and never shaken. Shaking will dull the clarity of the drink.

It usd to be either gin or vodka and dry vermouth at a 3 or 4 to 1 ratio. Now there are all kinds fru-fru drinks that they call Martinis but they aren't really martinis

My best martini... Good Vodka in a shaker with lots of ice and a couple of drops of dry Vermouth. Shake the hell out of it and pour in a big martini glass (straining the ice). Add three queen olives (stuffed with blue cheese if you dare) and enjoy. Yummy.

6 parts vodka
1 part Sambuca
Licorice twist
3 coffee beans

Combine liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker with cracked ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with licorice twist and coffee beans.
