Could it be fond childhood memories? Or the load of sugar? What does it do for you when you're feeling low- or just plain... blah?

Perhaps the sugar, but perhaps it is nostalgic. As a kid, it was a treat, you were good and felt good to be rewarded with a sweet, creamy dream. As an adult you revert back to the comfort food that made you feel good. Everything about ice cream spells goodness. The sound of the ice cream truck heading your way, the children running, kids begging their parents for the treat, watching the ice cream guy scoop and top your cone, the very first lick. aahhhh!!! The nostalgia for sure.

Well, milk products contain l-tryptophan which is related to seratonin & may impart a feeling of well-being. Also ice cream is fatty & creamy & cold & sweet & yummy!
