How in the world do you know a 3 week old puppy is constipated?
Where is the mom, she should keep it so clean you wont have any idea there is a poop problem.
If you are bottle feeding it, just add a tiny bit of Karo syrup to the milk, it will loosen the bowels up, (just a tiny bit though)

Come on Sidney F the puppy doesn't even have teeth yet, grass..... LOL it just has opened its eyes, and cant walk, it can barely crawl along.

Come on people NOTICE THE AGE OF THE PUPPY !!!!!!!

At 3 weeks old the puppy should still be nursing on it's mother. Is it eating food on it's own? If so feeding a little bit of pumpkin will help the constipation. I would cut out the food and let mama feed it for another week or two, feeding it dogfood right now can cause constipation.

Do not use supositories, this can injure a puppy that age.

Take a rectal thermometer, put a little Vaseline on the end. Insert only the tip, gently move the thermometer in & out. You may have to do it a few times but you should see results pretty quick.

If that doesn't work you can buy baby suppositories .Cut them up into slivers, 1/2 a sup should work.

Puppies that age don't always have a BM every day, if they are still nursing offer the butt to mom and let her do her job : )

Good Luck

Three week puppy consitpated? Isn't the mother taking care of him? She should be he is too young to be away from her. Perhaps I need more information. But if the mother is not on the scene and he is not drinking her milk,,,,,he does not need to be eating any type of food, he needs milk. You can get these formulas at your vets or a feed store. Don't let him do go on this way for long without seeing a vet.

Call your Vet - but I have used (with the vets permission) a small amount of magnesimum (the blue bottle, when you poor it out it is white) - that adults use for constipation....IT works, just put lots of newspapers down - - - - - and put him / her in the restroom or a small area - with their water bowl ..the water will help their constipation - and no table food(s) Good luck.....

Take him/her to the veterinarian, to determine if there is a reason behind it, and for proper treatment.
