Here's how we did it, Only prepare the drink while the child is not looking, he/she must be in a different area , or be distracted, first fill the cup 1/4 the way with water, the rest ( the other 3/4 s) with the juice. do this a couple days , the 3rd day make it 1/2 water half hiuce until the next week she;s getting diluted juice, This is ok for kids to have really , and easier on the kidneys and teeth. Then offer water with" speacial ice cubes" I started cracking the tray and letting our boy put the cubes in himself , so it was big deal for him, he drand diluted jiuce all the time, and never complained, sometimes our 3 year old complained about it, but I shrug and just "yum" . hee hee hee Also you can just dilute it in the jug after awhile they won't ask for it anymore you know that taste !

Don't take it away from her. It's her comfort. Just make sure you are brushing her teeth very well. Especially before bed time. Water down the juice at night a little, or sugar free juice/ kool-aid. Be patient and understanding. They are only small for a short time see the joy in this.

Instead of giving her straight juice, dilute it 1/2 juice and 1/2 water. Also, give her a choice of water or milk. If she is really thirsty she will drink other things.

If you switch her to Gatorade or a non sugar drink and slowly start putting water in it she'll break it herself. Not to mention the juice is bad for her teeth,or you could just not give it to her at night at all,she may cry but she will start to see that you mean what you say.

Yes, mix it with water, or just offer her water in a squirt bottle instead. She may like the idea of the squirt bottle and forget all about it not being juice.

the three children I currently babysit did this and I dealt with it by only allowing them to drink water while I am here, sometimes they wined in the beginning but it has been two months and they are happy with it now
you are the adult you are the one filling the cup, she is only going to eat and drink what you put in front of her
