Bigamy means that a man has 2 wives.
Polygamy can mean he has even more wives than that.
Monogamy is just one wife.

If there is more than one wife it is called polygyny, if more than one husband it's polyandry. Polygamy is the general term for more than one spouse.

The typical term is "polygamy."
"Polygamy" literally breaks down into "many marriages."
"Ploygyny" would be more accurate ("many women"), but whatever!
"Polyandry" means "many men" or "many husbands," not that anyone cares about that but me. :-)
