Because some people trust that the idiot asking the question has a real concern/query/question and may have experienced what they have been through. Giving yes or no answers doesnt help anyone usually.
Sometimes giving an answer WITH the reasons behind their advice can help the poster decide if that answer was vaild or not to THEIR situation. Questions are often all over the place...or crap given by children who just have time on their hands. Perhaps someone could make sense to them if they are treated as adults and given proper answers to their innoctious but scared little cries for help/information?
No-one wins anything from Yahoo...but it gives people, with time on their hands, a chance to communicate, express themselves and god forbid...even help, comfort or give someone a laugh? A bit like you are doing by asking that question?
OMG I sooo want to win a million.....lotto just doesnt seem to be working...sigh. Am I going on and on enough yet? Hang on.....I could think of more...just give me time.

Most people answer these questions to be helpful, not like those point hogs who answer with "I don't know" or some smart a$$ remark.
