You know, every time I get pregnant I think the same thing. With the world being as mean, and as bad as it is, Why should I bring more innocent babies into this world? Well, just know that my mother put it all into the proper perspective for me. She said that she felt the exact same way when she was pregnant with me, and her mom felt the exact same way when she was pregnant with her. What I'm trying to say that even though the world is bad now, it was bad then, and it's going to continue to be "bad", until the end of time. So yes, children are very necessary to keep the population of the human race from dying out. We have to replace those who die from everything from old age, to HIV, to car accidents, and heart failure. It's just the way of life.

You know things are not as bad as you may think. You should be hopeful about the future and try to make this world a better place for your children as opposed to just worrying about how bad it can be for kids.

So I think if more people kept that in mind then the answere is Yes, people should still have children.

People who are smart and decent need to have children--because it's a given that stupid people aren't going to use their choice not to have them, and we need to balance the future society (that will be there, whether we like it or not) with children who were raised in decent homes and taught important values. What would happen if a future generation was made up entirely of children who were born because their parents wanted the social security money?

It is scary in today's world, but it shouldn't stop people from having children.

It's just wrong when people have children and expect everyone else to raise them. Those people don't need to procreate.

Yes, children are the future and hope of this world. One of them may come up with a fix for the energy crisis and another a cure for cancer.

Yes. If nobody had children the human population would die out when all of us currently in existence reach the end of our lives.

That doesn't mean we can't follow some sort of population control (like having fewer children.)

yes.
If people were to stop having children altogether the population would begin to decrease, this decrease would accelerate until within 100 yrs there would be no people.

Stupid ones shouldn't. You know like the ones who have them to save their marraige, or to keep a boyfriend. Or the ones who raise them on the government tab..Or beat them or let their weird uncles play with them after dark.

Duh! Children pull a family together. They bring trials and that's part of what shapes us as people. Without children you might have more money, but more money leads to gambling, greed, and selfishness.
