I am not a dead beat dad. Anyone I've asked sayes this should not be leagal. what can I do besides win the lotto to get out of this crisis without loseing my family and Mind?

You should contact a lawyer and see what they say. I don't see how you are having to pay that much money with the child getting a ssi check every month. You really need to contact a lawyer and get a free consultation. Cause if she's working and getting the ssi check on him every month then I don't see how your having to pay that much. Good luck to you.

You should work one job that you can handle and have the agency (in Massachusetts it is Dept of Revenue) figure out the accurate amount you should be paying once that is all you are doing. The SSI should be contributed to the custodial parent's income, which I am assuming is the Mom if you pay support. If you also have the child for more than 50% of the time, she should be paying, not you. I would definately be in contact with them and request a recalculation.
Also, if no answers there, alot of family courts have a free lawyer of the day who might be able to direct you in the right way.
Some have sites, depending on what state you live in, that has a calculator on it. MASS does.

You gave conflicting information. You said that the child lives with you, so you dont pay child support but in your heading you say that you DO pay child support of $550. So...I'm assuming you were not paying at some time and owe the mother from past payments.

Call Child Support, explain that the child now lives with you and come to another agreement regarding paying off your debt. If you dont tell them whats going on....they just take the info they have and run with it. If you have a Court Ordered agreement that the mother is still in full custody...go back to court to get it changed to reflect that you are in sole custody. She would have to pay child support then, so it may offset your debt a little.

Dont run, dont hide...just be very honest and do the best you can for your little boy who is totally oblivious of all this adult rubbish..

If I were you I would apply with the court to have you child support reevaluated and they will go by the amount of income you and your spouse make together and the amount of time you each have the children. In Arizona, they are pretty fair about this. If you have the child 50/50 you usually do not pay child support. If she receives support from disability and you have the child 50 percent of the time she may have to split it with you. You can always have your child support evaluated every year. You can have the court fees waved because of your low income. You would probably even qualify for a free attorney.

MY FIANCE PAYS 1350.00 A MONTH IN CHILD SUPPORT AND THE ONLY THING YOU GUYS CAN DO IS GO BACK TO COURT AND ASK FOR A REDUCTION DUE TO THE REDUCTION IN INCOME.YOU CAN ASK THE EX FOR A BREAK BUT IF SHE IS LIKE OUR EX IT WILL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY FOR A LAWYER,AND THE WAY IT SOUNDS YOU DO NT.YOU CAN LET THEM PICK YOU UP THEN ASK FOR A COURT APPOINTED BUT WITH A DISABLED CHILD AT HOME THAT WOULD BE HARD TO DO UNLESS YOU HAVE SOMEONE TO HELP YOU.
I FEEL FOR YOU GUYS YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS IT SEEMS AT TIMES ESPECIALLY IF YOU DO NT HAVE MONEY.I MYSELF ONLY ASKED FOR 50.00 A WEEK AND HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A DIME.THE LAW NEEDS TO FIND A BETTER WAY TO HANDLE THIS CHILD SUPPORT DE LIMA DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE IS A 65% DIVORCE RATE IN THIS COUNTRY AND OUR CHILDREN AREN'T GETTING THE MONEY.AND OUR MEN ARE GOING TO JAIL AND OUR JAILS ARE FILLING UP AND THE TAX PAYERS ARE PAYING MORE ITS A TERRIBLE THING.I HOPE YOU GET THINGS WORKED OUT GOOD LUCK.

None of the child support laws are fair about anything, nor do they care what sort of poverty level their taking you into, or the problems your having in your OWN family, it only ever seems to boil down to the child, that has a parent not in the picture, and you owe that kid the very skin on your back, or so the courts think. I have no solution to this for you...just a sympathetic ear, from one poverty stricken family thanks to child support, to another..
