Agreed, and just for a preemptive strike I'd like to mention that someone will almost certainly come in here and say "IF U DUNT BELEAVE N HEL DEN Y R U AFEARD UV IT?! !! LOLZOAZLO"
To this I say, if someone threatened you, and perhaps even many of the people you love with torture would it not upset you even if you knew they would never actually go through with it? Isn't just the idea that they take pleasure in the thought enough to piss you off? I know it is for me.

I believe that acceptance of all others plays important factor in this vicious circle.
As we all have the ability of free choice. However, most people do not tend realize that many choices that we choose to make, do affect other peoples lives, feelings or state of being.
Accepting people for who they are, and not trying to change them based on what they believe can be hard for some people. We ask....Could it be stubborness? Could it be this is what they were raised with? Unfortunately, we do not know the intentions in a persons heart or mind. Yet, at the same time, acceptance is what it all comes down to in the end. For the most part, I do not believe that most people understand the entire definition of 'acceptance'.
Not only do I believe that it starts with acceptance, then the next step should be understanding, then forgiving. However, most people do tend to forget after they understand something, and do not further the forgiveness process.
Life to me is like a balance. On one side you have good, on the other side you have bad. If you make a choice, you will receive a consequence. According to the dictionary, the definition of consequence is: result; effect.
Just like you said that this is a vicious circle, it then circles around back to free choice. Everybody has a choice to make, whether or not it is the correct one, or one that people will agree with, that will remain to be seen with the consequence of their choice.
Knowing that there are people around you who care about and love you strengthens the bonds of acceptance. So hold your head high, and keep moving forward one step at a time.
However, this is just my opinion, and a choice that I made. I wonder what the consequence will be.......

The athiest needs to understand that the Christians are taught under fear. They truly believe that they or you may go to hell and they are responsible for trying to reverse this. This is a horrible way to believe in God, or themselves.
You cannot convince them there is no God. That would be taking a big risk.
Now, if they understood that their own bible tells how the whole world is saved, no one is under the law, there is no hell, all are one spirit, the apostles were non believers, revelations has been fulfilled, belief is not required - if they got that message - there would be a lot more tolerance - on both sides.
The only way is through there own book. I feel badly that there are so many that are misguided from centuries of manipulative church.

I'm a christian, let me ask you this why discuss religion if it gets you angry?
You don't believe in god and sweetie that is your choice, and you have every right to choice how you feel, its your life.. But a real Christian yes will tell you there is only way way to heaven,,yes because that is what we believe, you don't have to again, but if you know we are going to tell you this why ask?
I feel people should stop arguing about their beliefs and just get along..
Weather you love God or not we all still have to live and exist together, we could do it in peace which would be preferred or fight which is silly.
A christian makes a comment and they get bashed a person who doesn't believe comes back and says their opinion and the Christian attacks them..
What is proofed? Nothing,, why talk when it leads to fights,,, live your life as you see fit, treat people with respect and respect everyone belief weather you agree or not..

I understand where you're coming from and I was also there myself. But may I explain something in a friendly way... not passing judgement just stating facts. There are indeed some nasty Christians and I dont claim their arent. But Im not nasty, I dont tell anyone they should go to hell. Thank God that is not my job. However, I do believe the Bible and its path to salvation, this doesnt mean I wrote the Bible nor that I live it to the letter. For arguments sake, lets say you told me you drink and drive, if I tell you it's against the law to drink and drive and you could get arrested or have an accident, does that mean I never do it? Does that mean I want you to have an accident or get arrested? No, Im just stating the law... now regardless of if you believe that law or think its fair, doesnt change it if in fact it does exist.
Now for 6,000 years no one has been able to prove the Bible either true nor false. Given that, it could be true just as easily as it could be false. So if it is indeed true, nothing you believe will change it. God (if in fact He exists) wont say "Oh well you dont believe in Heaven or Hell so for you, they wont exist" I honestly dont KNOW 100% Heaven and Hell exist, but on the chance they do, I dont want to see you or anyone else suffer eternal torment. So I would be obligated to tell you how to stay out of Hell if indeed there is one. What kind of person would I be if I went to Heaven alone?

It used to be in this country that people could disagree about something, I mean even a serious disagreement, and then help each other get some work done. It's a sign of maturity. We are ALL wrong, about MANY things. Being wrong is not a sign of stupidity! I should say, "Being incorrect". I know of a very successful businessman. He has an entire wall of book shelves that have notebooks recording every mistake he ever made in business. He reviews them regularly. But we are nations of wimps now. We can't admit being incorrect about anything! I knew a 92 year old man once that told me that the two hardest words to say IN ANY LANGUAGE are "I'm wrong".

It truly amazes me and embarrasses me when I read a lot of the posts on here from "Christians".
It's like they get a kick from it all... like Nelson from the Simpsons saying "HA! HA!".
I have my own beliefs. I attend church every week (ok, I might miss every now and then). I am thoroughly enjoying my church. We might not share the same beliefs and that's okay. I hope that you'll respect mine and I promise to respect yours.
I believe that atheists/agnostics can be highly moral people. Being a Christian doesn't make me moral - but it does help ME stay within the guardrails of a healthy and happy life.
I'm irreverent. I'm a little crazy. I am a gamer (OK, I might not be enough of a "gamer" to be called a "gamer". Maybe a gamer-poser, huh? I want someone to look at me, my kids, my marriage and my life and say "Man, what's it about her". And then they'll see me volunteering with my church and it'll click that it's the core of my happiness.
I am so sorry that people have attacked you. It's pure ignorance.

I want to take the time to appologize to you. For any christian that has ever tried to force their beliefs down your throat. I do have very much faith in God, and I think you are right about the circle. We are called to make disciples ( note that is in the bible Matthew 28:18-20, if you ever get bored and want to look it up.) Although we aren't suppose to yell at people, and we are deffinitely not suppose to say you are going to hell. Telling someone they are going to hell is a sin in itself. Do me a favor please anytime ever tells you that you are going to hell! Ask them what Jesus said to the Disciples. If they know anything about scripture they will most likely stop bothering you. Christians are human, we ( christians) need to remember that. May your faith in whatever be strong. I hope the best for you in your life. (note I would say God bless you in your days, but I wasn't sure if that would offend you, sorry if any of this was offensive.

I am a Christian that likes to talk about the love of God, and the wonderful life He has to offer.
I have never, ever told anyone they are going to hell. Check out my Q&A. I might give a silly answer to a silly question. But I will never tell anyone they are going to hell. I let God be the judge. That is not my department.

The biggest mistake I made before becoming a Christian was judging God by what I saw Christians do. I see you making this same mistake. I also find myself now as a Christian so intent on getting the word out that I forget how Jesus wanted us to spread His message. By getting angry and sarcastic instead of patient I may prove a stumbling block for the lost. Please realize that most Christians want you to be saved and sometimes forget that their methods are not as good as God's. We are all guilty of it, I believe it is just one more way that Satan tries to pull people away from God. I pray daily that God remind me that I have no power to condemn to hell, if it were up to me child molesters would spend eternity having large pine cones shoved into small areas. but, because of His gentle reminders I understand that I have not the power to condemn nor save. It is not up to me to decide who goes to hell so if you catch me saying that someone is going please feel free to throw rotten fruit at me, well that's what I tell God. I know that all I can do for any non-believers is give them the message and pray for them, God will do the rest. Please do not let our (Christians) failings give you a bad view of God.
