When Ronald Reagan left office, it seems our sense of patriotism went with him. Our wonderful soldiers don't want to be killed anymore than the next person but they are out there serving our country. So why I ask, can't we just support them? Send them an ecard, tell one you see thanks.

I do not get why people do not understand that our troops are doing thier jobs. They go to work every day just like you do. The huge difference is that instead of returning home to thier own home, bed, and family every night they sleep on a bunk in a tent, barricks, or in a fox hole. They are always on alert and they see the worst of the worst. Many of them have seen thier friends die, many have been permanately scarred emotionally and physically. When those people who want to whine, *****, and moan about our troops, roll out of thier comfy bed, drink thier coffee, take a hot shower, and get in to thier air conditioned car they should thank thier lucky stars. Thank those brave men and women who are thousands of miles from thier homes that you have the oppertunity to have those luxuries every morning. Also thank those of us who wake up every day alone in our beds, eat our meals alone, wait days on end for the phone to ring so we can say I love you, just one more time, and dread the day that someone is going to come to our door to tell us that the last I love you was the last we would ever hear. Send the message that you are there for all of us , because if it were not for those of us here at home our military would not have the strength to go out and do what they have to do, and if it were not for our military you would not have all the luxuries you have every day. I understand that many people do not support this war I do not particularly support it myself but I love my Marine and I know that he is only doing his job. You should all know that too.

I am very curious as to where you live, since I have yet to meet anyone in my state that has even one bad word to say about the men and women serving our country.

I am the mother of a Sailor in the United States Navy. My Sailor has only had problems with government agencies, and never, ever, with any American met along the way. Men, women, and children, of all ages and backrounds have shown only genuine respect, and an overwhelming gratitude in every encounter.

It has been a lack of concern in equipping my Sailor for duty that has been lacking. Begging for funds from neighbors and family for equipment to keep my sailor alive is now my goal. How dare you even think this is a "whiney baby" attitude. My Child is committed to serve the United States. Will the US step up and commit to them also?

Patriotism is proved by actions, not careless words on a page.

i feel pity of our troops.. they are being led down the primrose path. they aren't into fighting this war because those insurgents don't fight fair. they have changed the whole game plan on the US and we are caught with our pants down. we have money and technology to keep us going, but those guys are fanatical types who will stop at nothing to see the US leave.
this whole war revolved around the oil issue and quite frankly, there is plenty of oil in this world. this whole oil shortage talk is nonsense and the reasons why oil has gone up so much is fear and greed.
what people don't realise is that the guys like Dick Cheney and his buddies are getting fat contracts to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan via tax payer's dollars.
the tools of this war, our poor American soldiers are caught between a war they can't see the end of and orders from our commander in chief.

lastly, Ronald Reagan was perhaps the truest form of republicanism we have seen in America. i always admired him and love the way he put those Russians in check.
Reagan kicked *** and he didn't back down. He stood up for America for all the right reasons and he had only one thing in mind at the end of the day..and that was making America great.

we do support the troops, but not the corrupt administration that sent them there for the administrations profit.

And by the way Reagan was so great that to save the taxpayers money he declared ketchup a vegetable for public school lunches. Which is kind of ironic since he became a vegetable himself later on in life.

**** ronald regan that doucebag of a president. I don't want soldiers being killed anymore than you do, but I don't support the cause, so how can I support the troops if I don't approve of their mission?

The best way to support them is to bring them home now and stop them from getting killed.

I agree with you. Our troops are heroes and are dieing for us. People who complain and are not supporting our troops need to realize they are dieing to keep their whining *** alive. I support our troops and always will. GOD bless them and the United States of America.

I, for one, fully support the troops, just not the ridiculous administration that's telling them what to do.

i respect the fact that they do a dangerous job and they put their lives at risk by following orders. but lots of people have dangerous jobs: coal miners, stuntmen, firemen, race-car drivers, policemen, the people who wash windows on skyscrapers... obviously, putting your life at risk isn't in itself worthy of admiration and thanks. it all depends on what you're risking your life for. firemen: very worthy cause. race-car drivers: showing off for fame and money. window washers: someone has to do it.

i respect soldiers for their willingness to risk their lives to defend their country, but i have no respect for the leaders who will risk the lives of soldiers for a senseless war, and betray the very ideals those soldiers signed up to defend. this war is not about self-defense. we illegally invaded a country that had not threatened or attacked us. i don't blame the troops for that, but i don't thank them either.
