The answer is Buddha!

Of all of the religious figures, the Buddha's message seams to me the most sincere and the most credible.

Unlike what "Hot Lava" believes, Buddha did not 'require' people to do anything. Buddha pointed to a destination (Enlightenment) and said, this is the path "I" took to get there. He openly said that there were other paths to enlightenment and his path was but one of many.

Jesus preached that things can be given to people. Salvation something bestowed. His way was the way of surrender and servitude. His message was be good to others second and obey god and his laws or suffer and die. Jesus' message of following god was an ultimatum. The message of god found throughout the old testament and the book of revelations is one of anger, jealousy, vengeance and imperfection.

Buddha teaches that live is suffering and that it continues to lead to suffering because we as individuals do not recognize reality. The Buddha shows us one path and encourages us to question everything. His was is based on compassion for all beings and the acceptance of all beings, regardless of their national origin, religion, skin color or political views. Buddha teaches that it is okay to disagree with someone but that should not make you any less companionate towards them. In modern terms, because I live in white house with a picket fence and have two dogs, why would I be intolerant of the family that lives in a blue stone house and has a cat? Or just because I like drama and dislike slapstick comedy, that does not mean that I would be insensitive towards someone who preferred slapstick. So then why would I not be compassionate to people who prefer other forms of government or who practice different religious beliefs or live in another country?

Buddhists have yet to start a war over religious beliefs, and generally speaking, each sect of Buddhism tends to get along well with each other sects. This can not be said for Christianity. The history of Christianity is riddled with displays of hatred, war and dissention between the various denominations. Ever Christian church has it's reasons why it is the only true interpreter of the gospels and why they feel sorry for all those that do not follow their way.

When all is said and done, in my opinion, the Buddhist teachings are the most genuine, the most believable and the most credible. This is not meant as a accusation, but rather as en explanation.

I hope this helps.

How can u want the coin and ask for head or tails only, coin comes with both sides. Not comparing buddha or Jesus with head or tail, just giving an example. Saints are saints, Avtaar's are Avtaar's, messenger's are messenger's. I love both as it's my love and I have a choice. Important is to practice the principles they practiced, before buddha their was no buddhism and before Jesus there was no christianity. Also they never formed the religions, it's the followers and look at what they have created out of the messenger's of GOD, of Love.

Jesus was more open to allowing ALL people a path to salvation. Jesus focused on salvaiton as a GIFT from the creator (God).

Buddha requires a person to do a whole lot to move up the levels and come closer to enlightenment.

Buddha. Even being only a man (well, so was Jesus if he's real) his teachings make a lot more sense to me. There is suffering and their is a way out of suffering. How pure and simple does it get?

Yahu'shua of Nazareth anytime and anyday of the week. I would never like to leave this body of flesh to achieve some Nirvana in the sky. Give me the resurrection of the dead with a very alive and glorified body to a bodiless soul that continues forever to be re-infleshed(reincarnated) until it finally is perfect and dis-embodied to live as a spirit in Nirvana.

I love the idea of the resurrection and a glorified human body. The ascended spirit that has lived many lives is not for me. Buddism is a modification of Hinduism.

Yahu'shua is the Creator and the resurection and the life infleshed to show us the perfect example of spiritual life in our bodies and then to demonstrate that the resurrection is a fact and the glorified body is superior to a dis-embodied spirit.

gravesendian,

If you ever read the four gospels and you would know they were all the eyewitnesses and Luke even investigated these eye witnesses to make sure they wrote it down right. He tells you this in his opening paragraph.

It is who you choose to believe: 1) the textual critics and college professors versus 2) what the gospels actually say.

Buddha. I don't really know what Jesus had to say about much seeing as nobody really bothered to listen to him and write down what he said.

Well, neither. Jesus is a name that was filtered down through Pagan beliefs especially a few hundred years ago originating in early Germany. Yashua has his roots in biblical times and prior. The prefix "Ya" is the prefix used often in liu of The almighty creator's name "Yhwh" found in the ancient scrolls of the Tetragrammaton. The essence of this text is founded on the four letters of our creator: Yhwh, and the text further describes its translation and interpretation. Many groups and subsequent texts have not used this name, because of fear that the name will be used in vain or improperly. However, several places in the bible refer to the fact that it is Ya's will that his name be recovered throughout all of humanity. Do research on the internet using these searh terms (Yhwh, Yashua, Tetragrammaton, Septuagint) Many have posted some great information on this, and I encourage that you will be blessed by this knowledge and by placing your faith in Him. E-mail me if you would like links and phone numbers to organizations that seek to further His truth. Yhwh bless you, Cheryl

Maybe not so much a preference, but Buddha was more realistic and compassionate.
