In a week, about 1/5 of a pound. Running burns approx 100 calorie per mile. (Could be more or less depending on your weight, the speed you run, and the difficulty.) So 7 days, 1 mile is 700 calories. You need to burn or have a calorie deficit of 3500 calories to lose 1 pound.

To lose more weight, you'll need to watch what you eat and run more than 1 mile. Also, give yourself longer than one week for noticable results.

In a week, not much.

Depends on how fast you run.

It also depends on what time of day you do it. Doing cardiovascular exercise first thing in the morning is best for fat-burning and weight loss.

in fact, if you go a mile everyday only in the evenings, you probably won't burn much fat -- you won't start burning fat till at least 15 minutes into your walk, and if it's only a mile, you'll be done before 15 minutes is even up.

Think of it in terms of time, not distance -- aim for at least a half-hour of nonstop running, but not at first. Gradually build up to that if you haven't gone running before.

And for optimum results, do it first thing in the morning. Don't eat anything or drink anything other than water before you head out -- that way, your body will begin to burn fat almost immediately.

Finally, SEE A DOCTOR BEFORE YOU START ON ANY VIGOROUS EXERCISE ROUTINE.

Good luck!

Maybe none. If losing weight is your goal you must have the proper diet in which to do it. I don't mean atkins either. If you're exercising, you must have some carbs in order to restore your glycogen in your muscles and liver, otherwise you could go into a catabolic state. You might lose a little water running. I once lost ten lb. in two days rucking for miles and miles with a large, heavy rucksack. I was dehydrated. It wasn't pretty. I asked for the I.V. just in time.
Research proper diet. My favorite website for diet is: www.garynull.com

It's not the distance, but how fast yuou run it.

Walking burns about 5 calories a minute.

Running,from 10-30.

Running off 10 cal/min for 30 minutes is 300 calories burned.

One pound of fat is 3500 calories. Ten sessions of that won't even equal that one pound.

Do the math.

It depends.

How many calories you eat - how many calories you burn = how much weight you lose
