Both are good choices. I am partial to Toyotas, but I love a cute girl in a Jeep, thats one hot look.

Depending on what you have to spend, a 4 Runner is a strong, reliable choice. A Jeep is a great investment if you are wanting something for a long time. They can be a little less reliable than an average Toyota if they're older, but more fun too. If you have a few extra bucks for upgrades, go with a Jeep. If you are needing something now that will require less maintenance, probably go with a Toyota.

I have a new RAV4 and I love it. Because they just came out with a new style/model this year, you may be able to get a used one for a reasonable price.

My mechanic told me that the service ratio of Toyotas in general is about 90% maintenance to 10% actual repairs. In other words, most of the money is spent on oil changes and new tires/brakes, etc. Not bad, and I've had great luck with the three I've owned -- the last one had more than 275K miles on it before I finally traded it in (and still got $1000 for it!!!)

I guess the Toyota Land crosier is a good one, besides it is pretty strong.
