Striving to find out if God did or did not exist, What and/or Who The God if existent is (I researched and wrote a paper on proofs for the existence of God when 13 or 14), studying Philosophy and Theology through life as well as degrees in Engineering complemented by 68 years of living and experiences. For some decades I not only believe that God exists but have gotten to KNOW God exists and much more of Who and What God really is and have become more Theocentric and Theophilic knowing more about God. I suspect at least weekly attendence at church in my religion and becoming a Ph.D. had something to do with it, but even the most unschooled can have a great intimacy and knowledge of God by striving to do so, more often than those more schooled since the latter are often hyper focused on that less important than God.

Reading and studying the Bible. Learning about prophecies in the Bible that came true to the minutest detail...one of my favorites is in the book of Daniel, chapter 5 regarding the fall of Babylon. In fact, the very name of the leader of these forces had been foretold, as had the main points of his battle strategy. Some 200 years in advance, Isaiah had prophesied that Jehovah would anoint one named Cyrus to come against Babylon. In the course of his onslaught, all obstacles would be smoothed out before him. Babylon’s waters would “dry up,” and her mighty doors would be left open. (Isaiah 44:27–45:3) And so it was. The armies of Cyrus diverted the Euphrates River, lowering the water level so that they could move through the riverbed. Doors in Babylon’s wall had been left open by careless guards. As secular historians agree, the city was invaded while its inhabitants reveled. Babylon was taken with hardly any opposition. (Jeremiah 51:30) There was, though, at least one notable death. Daniel reported: “In that very night Belshazzar the Chaldean king was killed and Darius the Mede himself received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.”—Daniel 5:30, 31.

That is just one of many prophecies that has strengthened my faith in God.

After prayers, scripture study, the testimony of others, I have gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon and have felt the spirit testify to me again and again that it is the only true church on the earth. What a wonderful blessing it is to know who we are, why we are here, and were we can go!!

He Led me to Himself and then gave me reason to have faith in Him.
What you didn't think there was reason. There is in scripture.. I won't ask you to read it all here is a highlight..
Pss22
12] Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
[13] They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
[14] I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
[15] My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.
[16] For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
[17] I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.
[18] They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
Sound like anything you ever heard of.. Maybe the Crucifixion of Christ? I know it's possible to self fulfill prophesies but this is one that couldn't have been so. Think a man would call down to these killing him to throw dice for his cloths as he hangs there dieing.. If you do you have far more faith than I do..

It was the seed of faith planted first in me by the father that took root and led me into a relationship with him.

When I got down on my knees and prayed. I asked the LORD for guidance, and I told HIM that I dont believe in baptism saving me, because JESUS died on the Cross for the forgiveness of my sins...

HE OPENED MY EYES!! IT WAS LIKE A CURTAIN OPENING...and I could see...

I wish you well..
