Last time I asked this question, I got definitions mixed up.
So, it's like this:
Every religion thinks theirs is right. Even atheists think that no religion is the best religion. Basically, I'm re-asking this question to get better answers, because I asked the wrong thing last time. For a reference to my last question, go to this URL:

P.S. Please tell me your religion, and if you have none, put "atheist".

Everyone's answers are good. But why does every religion want people to go to their religion, instead of other people's? I go to a Christian church, and they keep tellign me that all roads except for Christianity lead to hell. What do you think?

Religion: Open minded spiritualist.
The answer to your question: Peoples EGO
Explanation: People love to be right, and many people believe that their way is the way to go. I was doing some reading on peoples near death experience and when they met God some of them asked God which religion is the best. In general God said that he/she doesn't care which one you choose as long as it brings you closer to him/her. Also the NDE'rs (Near Death Experiencer's) also mention that they realize that love is the most important thing that people can be doing in this lifetime.
It's funny. Aside from satanism, all the religions basically have the same general philosophy, but the religions split up when it comes to minor details. The ideal is to bring everybody together, but man uses slight discrepancies to keep each other apart.

Religion is an opinion. It is a form of explaining the unexplainable for many people in various cultures. Why do Democrats and Republicans always get into arguments? Because each side believes their opinion is right/better than the other. If people started respecting the beliefs of others, there wouldn't be so many stupid arguments/fights/wars.
P.S. - I'm agnostic. I believe there is a God, just differently than Christians/Muslims, etc. Just because a person doesn't affiliate with a specific religion doesn't mean that s/he is an athiest.

Any religion that involves "converting others" is simply big business. The more sheep in your fold the more power and money you have. Therefore you want the people to stay away from other religions so you claim that yours is the only correct one.
Atheists, in general, honestly believe that faith based religions are one of the big things screwing up the world. They attack them all as they see it as self preservation.
As for me ... I don't think any of them have it right, not really.

None... but I'm not Atheist either. But, how else would religions get converts if they admitted that they might be wrong? or flawed in some way? I don't think people are going to line up to join something that claims it could be a bunch of BS. ^_^

Not much point to believing something if you don't believe that its right. A religion is, by definition, a set of beliefs about the nature of reality. If one didn't believe in their beliefs, they wouldn't hold those beliefs. You have to do some pretty bizarre mental gymnastics to come up with a belief system that doesn't believe in its own beliefs. How silly!

I am a Wiccan.
There is no one right religion or no one true religion.. there are many paths to many different beliefs. The path is only right for the particular individual that walks it. Each person is free to choose the path most suitable for them.

because no one wants to think that all the time they spent praying or going to church was all for nothing. As long as you believe in Jesus, youre fine. The way I believe is that I think you are judged by what you know is right or wrong.

the answer to this question is that the one's religon tries to answer the fundamental questions about this life and the after life, once you have faith in your particular answer, all the others are disasterous for the practitioners of them, if you knew someone was about to be in a car wreck, wouldnt you try to save them from getting in the wreck even if they didn't believe you knew they were going to be in the wreck?
i think both hindus and buddhists are of the opinion that their religons are just one of many paths and not the only path

Its not just religion, just look at politics. People don't like it when people have views different from their own.
